Joshua Altman, First-Year Slytherin

Josh is born from wealthy Pure-Blood parents, Joseph and Angelina Altman. Both had very high ranking positions in the Ministry of Magic and were loved and respected by both the Ministry and the rest of the wizarding world alike.

The Altmans had all been in Gryffindor for centuries. There was none that would deny that the Altmans would be the biggest Gryffindor influence and tradition in the entire wizarding world. On the other hand, the Altmans were also considered by many Pure-Blood supremacists as the worst blood traitors around. Joseph and Angelina respected Muggles so much that they would often take their children on “field trips” into the Muggle world to see what they would have to offer. Josh, on the other hand, despised those trips. He would rather stay home than to go over to the “primitive petting zoo” as he like to call it. It wasn’t long until he made friends with a “Blood Purity” family. They were the first to hate the Altmans “for being very infamous blood traitors.” However, once that family saw Josh’s nasty hatred towards Muggles and Muggle-Borns, they accepted him as part of the family. They taught him everything they knew were to be true about the wizarding world and Josh absorbed everything they gave him. It wasn’t long until they even started giving him money along the way.

Eventually, his siblings, Michael and Stephanie Altman started to attend Hogwarts. They were both sorted into Gryffindor which was no surprise. Year after year, they returned from Hogwarts babbling about their amazing Muggle-Born friends they made along the way. Each time, their friends visited his house, Josh felt sick to his stomach. He had finally received his letter from Hogwarts and felt disgusted when his family started celebrating to the “birth of a proud Gryffindor.” As they finished with all the items for school, Josh boarded the Hogwarts Express trying to stay away from his two older siblings.
