No, No, No, No Madison thought to herself as she went through her dresses in her wardrobe. The Bennett family had been invited to have tea with the Norden family at Rhinelander Estate, one of their many homes and Madison was excited yet nervous. She couldn't wait to see Remedy again, the two of them had such a marvelous time together when they were in Madam Malkin, having the final fitting for the gowns that they would wear at all the Christmas events that the social calendar provided the ultra class. Her mother Victoria, had been fussing over both Madison and her older brother James all day and, quite frankly, Madison was sick of it. Her mother had eliminated quite a few of the dresses that Madison owned, deeming them 'inappropriate' to wear to tea at the Estate.

However, Madison was still having an increasingly difficult time trying to find a dress to wear. She had picked out her shoes and done her hair, so now only the dress was left. She stood back from her dress rack and thought for a few moments, before going back to her rack of dresses and picking out the one she'd wear. The dress she had chosen was white and it pinkish red rose bundles on them. The dress went past Madisons knees and was neither too revealing, nor too reserved. Madison took one final look in her mirror, smiled, feeling confident with how she looked and headed downstairs, when she was stopped in the middle of the stairs by her mother coming up them. Madison stood back slightly, smiling at her mother and spun, showing off her dress. As Madison watched her mothers facial expressions, she took a deep breath and looked at her. "Well mother, what do you think of my..." Madison said, starting her sentence before her mother reigned over the top of her.

"Madison Olivia Bennett, what on earth are you wearing!! Do you really think I'm going to let you go to the Nordens dressed in this? It does nothing for your figure, nothing for your face and makes you look like a wild rose bush. Honestly child you are such a nuisance, why can't you just comply for once!" her mother said. Madison firmly disagreed in her head, before holding her head up high and looking her mother in the eyes.
"I know mother, but, I think it rather suits me and I'm sorry but I'm not going to change, for if I do, we will be late" Madison said as politely to her mother as she could, though in her head Madison had thoughts racing through her mind, Comply for once? How could my own mother say that? I've always complied to her demands and expectations, I guess what I've been thinking is true. I really will, never be good enough for her.

Her Mother was going to retort back, however soon James came downstairs and Victoria walked past Madison, but not before saying, "this is not over young lady" to her in a very sharp way. Madison stood on the stairs for a few minutes, before she saw her dad Atticus and smiled softly. Atticus, who could see the slight deflation of the sparkle in his daughters blue eyes, took her hand as she came down the stairs and spun her around once. "Madi, my sweet, come here" he says, smiling at her softly as he put on his jacket. "I think you look perfectly presentable in that dress, very pretty in fact. I do believe you're turning into a young lady right before my eyes" he says and Madison giggles, smiling at him as her dad gives her a hug.

Once Victoria and James came downstairs, Victoria was still huffing over the dress Madison was wearing, however Atticus told Madison to walk over to the chimney, where James was, ready to go by Floo Powder to the Estate. Madison stood next to James, who gave her a hug, seeing that his sweet younger sister was struggling with the harsh words their mother had spoken to her. Madison smiled and took a few deep breaths, as she heard more jarring words being spoken between both her parents.
However, soon the whole family was ready to go and even with some time to spare. Atticus went first and then James went after him. As Madison was about to step in, Victoria stopped her and looked at her harshly, with eyes that were currently devoid of any feeling, though soon would be lit up with all pleasantries and happiness. "Do not screw this up young lady. Behave yourself or there will be consequences, do you understand me?" she says and Madison nods.

Once both Madison and Victoria finally joined Atticus and James, they arrived under, what appeared to be the gatehouse of the Estate. It was beautiful and Madison could see that her mother liked it a lot too. It was a short walk from the Gatehouse to the main building, which was every bit as beautiful as the rest of the Estate. Madison and her brother, followed behind Atticus and Victoria, with Atticus knocking at the door. Madison had composed herself and so was back to her light and cheerful self, though much more composed and calm. You look amazing Mads, just relax, all will be well she thought to herself as she heard steps coming towards the door

Whisped away in the gentle murmurs of her mother's song and in the warming embrace of the sun, a soft gale wafted the gardens of Rhinelander Estate and chimed the ornamental wind chimes that hung high above the girls' heads.

Brown orbs opened to observe the colorful flowers sway with the wind, the rustling of tree branches overhead, and the ivory tablecloths ripple freely. Her senses were saturated with the fragrant wildflowers and citrusy notes of Earl Grey tea, an indicator of the company the Norden's would shortly be entertaining. The raven-haired girl continued to lay against her mother unbothered; Remedy's brown eyes would flutter shut once more, falling into a trance as her mother continued to sing softly while playing with Remedy's dark hair. Her countenance matched her relaxed posture, her wandering gaze taking in random things around the pair.

Unbeknownst to Remedy and Hyacinth, Livvy, one of the Norden's many house elves, would snap her fingers to open the door, revealing the Bennett household. Derrick would warmly greet them with a firm handshake for James and Atticus, and a polite greeting to Madison and Victoria. The men would chatter away, breaking away from the other Madison and Victoria to tour Rhinelander's halls and talk sports, leaving Livvy to escort Madison and Victoria to the garden.

Distant voices captured both Remedy's and Hyacinth's attention as Livvey's voice sing-songy voice rattled on about the estate's history, before clearing her throat to announce her presence. Hyacinth would rise to her feet and give Victoria a polite hug and fawn over Madison's dress, gesturing for Remedy to approach. With a sigh under her breath, Remedy jumped off the swing and greeted the pair with a small smile.

"Mrs. Bennett, Madison; charmed. Thank you for coming," The raven-haired spoke with a smile, giving both an easy nod, "Tea should still be hot if you want to sit."

After the warm greeting Madison and her family received from Derrick, her brother and dad were soon taken for a tour of the halls by Derrick, with Madison being escorted down the halls of the great estate, along with her mother, by the house elf, who was giving a very interesting account of the estate's history. As they came down the steps and into the garden, it was even more impressive, matching the grandeur of the house in full. "Remember what I told you earlier Madison, mess this up and there will be consequences" her mother said through gritted teeth, accompanied by the same icy and expressionless eyes, before her air turned into one of lightness, grace, politeness and compliments.

"Hyacinth darling, we are so delighted that you invited myself and my family to your magnificent estate" Victoria said politely, her arms extended as she returned the polite hug that Hyacinth had given her. Madison rolled her eyes as she stood slightly behind her mother and kept her back straight, already sick and tired of her mother with the display of her quite repulsive and interchangeable countenance. However soon that frown turned into a smile as Hyacinth complimented her dress, "thank you, it is one of my favourites and..." Madison said in reply to Hyacinth and her many compliments, before her mother came in over the top of Madison, "thank you Remedy what a polite and charming young lady you are" walking with Hyacinth over to where the tea had been laid out. Oh for goodness sake, I hope Remedy and I get to leave the table at some point, I've already had enough of mother berating me, goodness knows I don't need more of it, but no doubt i'll get some Madison thought to herself in her head.

Madison was used to getting many compliments from anyone she met, with her charm, grace, poise and incredible beauty, whenever Madison walked into a room people were often very quick to compliment her. Madison walked over to Remedy after her mother cut her off, and smiled at her, "I'm glad we're gaining a chance to talk again, I very much enjoyed our conversations yesterday, and I love your dress Remedy, it looks beautiful on you" Madison says genuinely.

As Madison sat down next to Remedy at the table, her mother and Hyacinth continued talking together and Madison positioned herself on a slight angle, facing more towards Remedy and away from any potential, and very much expected, silent gazes of condensation from her mother. Once tea was poured, Madison took a sip before placing her teacup down and turning to face Remedy, "I must say, I had so much fun yesterday trying on all those dresses, you truly did look stunning in the ones you chose Remedy" Madison said with a sweet smile.

As Madison took another sip of her tea, trying to avoid her mother's eye contact and constant silent nagging, Madison took a breath and straightened her back, as the house elf bought out some small treats for the ladies to enjoy with their tea. Madison smiled at the house elf before she walked back towards the house. "Your estate is very beautiful Mrs. Norden, I would love to see some more of it if that is allowed. Perhaps after we have partaken in tea, would you allow Remedy and I to be excused, for if I try and tour this house myself I will become quite lost" Madison said with a soft giggle and sweet smile.

Whilst her mother looked at Madison with another silent, but distinguished look of annoyance at her daughter engaging in conversation with someone she was talking to, though at the point in which Madison asked Hyacinth, the two ladies had been sipping their tea rather than talking, Madison tried her hardest to ignore the looks from her mother and focus on Hyacinth as she waited for her answer

Compliments were nothing but a familiar occurrence for the girl, but she would reciprocate her visitors' kind graces with a series of polite phrases of appreciation.

Gracefully crossing her legs, Remedy brought the dainty porcelain cup to her lips, her nostrils subtly flaring as she inhaled the citrusy notes of Earl Grey tea. Her face contorted in revulsion at the bitter taste that greeted her lips, but an ivory tablecloth covering her mouth would quickly hide her disgust. With a slight inclination, Remedy placed a single sugar cube into her cup and swirled it with a silver spoon; another sip would evoke a blissful sigh.

Listening to Madison's words about trying on dresses, Remedy smiled faintly. For her, appearance was rather an obligation to fulfill the expectations tied to her position in high society as a young lady. This wasn't to say that Remedy didn't have much regard for her attire, but moreso carried a general distaste for ball gowns in particular. "Thank you, Madison, I had fun as well," the girl replied with a passive half-smile on her lips, befitting the half-truth she would state in response to Madison's words.

With a bored exhale, Remedy would take another sip of her tea, her attention drifting as the adult women chattered on about gossip and articles in the tabloids. While her brown orbs admired the surrounding scenery to pass time, Remedy's gaze met Mrs. Bennett's piercing glares directed towards Madison. How curious, the girl contemplated while gently blotting her lips with the ivory cloth nestled in her lap. The subtle sound of footsteps approaching drew Remedy's attention away from Victoria, her brown orbs shifting to their house elf carrying a metal tray of hors d'oeuvres. Remedy expressed her gratitude with a nod, as did her mother, Hyacinth, who stated her gratitude to Livvey for presenting the appetizers before dismissing the elf.

As Madison expressed her desire to explore the estate, Remedy shot her a glance before exchanging glances with Hyacinth, who would reply: "Of course, Miss Bennett, go right ahead," Hyacinth exclaimed cheerfully, "I'd be lying if I said I don't still get lost to this day." Remedy hesitated in her seat until Hyacinth gave her an unspoken message through her widening eyes, which prompted Remedy to huff in frustration and rise from the seat.

"So....You never told me what House you were sorted to," The girl inquired as she stepped inside to the foyer and led Madison through halls opposite the booming voices of her father, Madison's father, and brother. "Definitely don't strike me as a Gryffindor,"

As Remedy commenced Madison’s tour of the famous Rhinelander Estate, Madison was marveled by the prestigious history of the Norden line. When Remedy had inquired what house Madison had been sorted into, Madison got nervous upon realizing she was treading upon a den of vipers. She knew such people similarly to the Norden’s likely carried a certain penchant for the noble house of Slytherin, as well as a tainted perception of members of Hufflepuff.

Among the elite classes, it was often mocked that graduates of the Hufflepuff house were often labeled as weak; yet, Madison dismissed the notion knowing she strong, kind, caring, friendly and very loyal; at least to those who were loyal back to her, anyway. "Oh no, l'm not a Gryffindor," Madison said with a giggle, "My mother was in Ravenclaw, as is my brother James. However, my father was in Hufflepuff, and so am I." The air remained cold and thick between the girls; not receiving a response to her statement, Madison would attempt to glance quickly into Remedy’s direction. She noticed the girl responded with nothing more than a bored nod, prompting Madison to say no more during the remainder of the tour and only feigning a smile.

As she and Remedy began to saunter towards the echoing voices of their fathers and James, Madison’s father Atticus was the first to spot the girls as they reunited in the hallway. He smiled at Madison and ushered them over: "Ahh! Hello ladies, how did tea go in the garden?” he asked with a smile. "lt was lovely, father. Remedy was just showing me around the estate. Mother and Ms. Norden are still sitting outside together," Madison explained to her dad with a smile.
"Yes, well, that's fair enough to leave your mother and Ms. Norden to talk on their own. And Remedy, it's a pleasure to formally meet you,” Atticus responded with a warm smile to which Remedy replied in the same polite manner.

During the men’s conversation, her father to boast Madison’s caliber regarding her skill on a broom and in Quidditch. Derrick appeared impressed by her skills garnering her a few compliments from Mr. Norden himself, to which Madison blushed despite wanting to change the subject, although not fully knowing how to.
After a while, Hyacinth and her mother entered the indoors from the garden, both women joining their prospective families.

"Oh Hyacinth, I must say your estate is exquisite and and you must be so blessed to have the most perfect daughter," Victoria stated with a grin, to which Hyacinth acknowledged graciously. Soon Madison and her family were given their coats by Livvy, and while Madison was putting hers on, she walked back over to Remedy and smiled at her: "I enjoyed this time together, Remedy. Hopefully we'll see each other again at Hogwarts," Madison said with a sweet smile, before sharing her thanks to Hyacinth and Derrick for hosting.

After all pleasantries and gratuities were exchanged, Madison walked out the door beside her brother happily towards the archway to which they arrived. Her smile would soon fade as heard her mother’s complaining about all the things Madison had apparently done wrong during the course of their exchange with the Nordens. She sighed, but was comforted by her brother’s hand which she felt take hold of hers. Madison glanced up at James as if to exchange a silent thank you, before they utilized the Floo Network to return home.

Despite the reaming Madison knew was awaiting her back home from her mother, the girl couldn’t help but to be excited to see what this new prospective friendship could develop into.
