Short Summary:
Emeline is suddenly ghosted by her friends of six years! She doesn’t know why or what she has done wrong, but is obviously really upset about this. No matter what she does, her friends never answer her and she cannot seem to communicate with them. She becomes very confused and starting to get upset, and sad as part of her everyday feelings. Slowly, throughout the year, Emeline is able to talk to people and make some friends, and becomes happier. She tries to overcome her feelings but things are still hard for her mentally. She learns how to be happy with what her life is like now and knows she needs to enjoy things as they are. A story about friendships, overcoming sadness, and figuring things out.

Finding the Light
Prologue- Our Conversations All in Blue

Wednesday November 1st, wc: 446

Send. Another “hey” appeared on my screen. I scrolled up, 21 messages all from me within the past month, none from her. I stared at the word “delivered” hoping that it would change, but it never did, none of them did. My best friend, or more the girl I thought was my best friend, had been ignoring me almost all summer long. I had two best friends, Bailey and Ava, I’ve tried contacting them both but the same thing would happen no matter who I’d text. I’m not sure why but I think they’re purposefully ignoring me, ghosting me. It was all so sudden, like one day we were talking, and the next all the way until today I haven’t been able to reach either of them. The three of us were supposed to hang out together one day but the same day is when the two started to ignore me. Sighing, I left our chat and clicked on Ava’s. It was exactly what happened with Bailey, hey’s, deliverered’s, all in blue. Nothing from either of them for the past month, even a little over that. No matter what I could think of there was no reason I could come up with for why they ghosted me. I know they didn’t have any month-long plans for the summer, and if something came up they would’ve told me, at least I thought. I stared at my phone for a few more moments before shutting it off and laying down on my bed. What did I do wrong? I asked myself. Were they really ignoring me on purpose? I had only ever tried to make them happy and have fun, make sure they were okay, and now look where I’ve ended up. Summer was usually the part of the year that I enjoyed the most, other than Christmas, but this one not as much. Sure I still went out with family and got to enjoy the sun and all but it was so weird without Bailey and Ava. I still had them for the first month of summer at least, but now it was almost over, and it kind of felt wasted. Like I could’ve spent my time this month doing something fun, instead of trying to reach my friends, or I could’ve planned a trip with my parents or something. Instead, I spent most of it trying to talk to the people who ghosted me, how fun. Hopefully when school began next week I would get to see them again and things would be all good. Maybe we’d be in the same class, or at least a few of them. I guess we’ll just have to see.
