Quidditch Spectator Gryffindor v Hufflepuff - Fall 2023

The next few days would be a flurry of emotions as the sports all started their first games of the year. Alyssea dragged Helena and Landon to the Quidditch stands, the weather being nice enough to not shiver and kept her hands free to drag them both. Today, she was here to support her badger bestie, @Madison Bennett. It would be her first match even if she was on the bench; the important part was that Madison was on the pitch!

While Alyssea didn't have any signs to hold for Madison to cheer her on (if her dragging her friends wasn't obvious), she had a voice and she was willing to lose it today.

(She would probably regret it since broom racing was tomorrow... Maybe it was time to invest in a sign for them if she did lose her voice.)

The trio sat down and Alyssea quickly yelled out, "GO HUFFLEPUFF!" and quickly followed it up with, "GO MADI!!!"

She couldn't stop bouncing her knee as the players took their places. She could hear her mother's voice in her head scolding her. Whatever. Back to the game. While she was not a fan of Quidditch nor knowledgeable about it, this badger bled yellow.

─────Landon was actually excited to go see the Quidditch match. Alyssea barely had to tug on his hand to get him to follow her. The weather was a bit crisp, but not too terrible. Landon just needed a jacket, and he had one that was almost Hufflepuff yellow, so he figured that would be a good one to wear to a Quidditch match. Landon knew that Madison was on the Quidditch team. Even if Madi didn't get to play, he wanted to support her. He also felt like he wanted to learn how to play Quidditch himself. He longed to be a part of a team and to have better house spirit.

Landon smiled as Alyssea let go of his hand and he jumped a little as she yelled. He wasn't used to loud sudden noises, having always been a quiet sort of person, but he waved toward Madi, even if Madi didn't see him. He hoped that she would get to play today somehow, though he hoped it wouldn't be because of someone getting hurt too badly. He didn't wish injury on anyone, of course. Landon took a seat next to his friends, his hands folded in his lap calmly. He didn't want to get too excited before the game actually began. He smiled widely as he waited for the game to begin.

Axyen ran through the corridors of Hogwarts, he couldn't believe he forgot about the Quidditch match. Axyen promised Daphne he would attend this but Axyen was so worried about practicing for his soon-to-come dueling match, that he forgot all about the time until he decided to check. Now Axyen found himself running(which was unusual for him). After making it ouside, Axyen quickly found himself at the Quidditch Stands, it looked like the match had already started. Axyen wanted to make sure he attended Daphne's match and cheered her on, although in truth he currently didn't know what was going on and if he would be even able to understand while everyone is zooming on brooms.

Axyen found his seat in the stands, which didn't take him too long and now Axyen was trying to keep up with what was going on in the match. Maybe he needed to wait a few seconds to finally figure out what was going on in the match, which meant Axyen would have to be clueless just a little longer. Axyen saw other students excitedly watching the Quidditch match. Axyen picked the edge of the stand because he had no other choice with the students filling up the other seats. because it gave Axyen the best view of the match, at least Axyen hoped it did.

Today Axyen wore black robes with a Hufflepuff pin and three yellow stripes at the end of each sleeve, a Hufflepuff scarf, a grey long shirt with yellow stripes near the top and black jeans. It seemed Axyen(as usual) was in high Hufflepuff spirits.

Axyen didn't know who was winning, but hoped Hufflepuff would win. Axyen was considering asking one of his fellow students if they knew what was going on, but Axyen said nothing. His shyness kicked in like usual. Axyen remained silent, preparing to cheer for Hufflepuff for whatever came next.

Dori had definitely been here the whole game, even if no one could spot them. Or their writer hadn't written them in until the end. Who's to say. Gryffindor vs Hufflepuff always seemed to pull them in two, and they had dressed for the occasion. With their knitting skills had made a scarf alternating yellow, red, yellow, black. They had also made a shirt from half-assed sewing skills of a yellow and red shirt- which was still Gryffindor. But each side had the emblem in half-decent embroidery. The makeup on their face mirrored their outfit choices, and the sign they held had encouragement for either team, with a 2nd sign being laid against the stands for whoever won. The Gryffindor side being specifically focused on Dori's prized seeker, Elsi.

Truthfully, Dori was mildly surprised that he had taken up the sport which left no time for napping even in the calmest of times. There were practices, broom maintenance to keep up with, and plays to study. But sure enough the boy had done his due diligence in becoming a prized member of the team, and this game proved that. Dori kept flipping the sign in whichever direction the game seemed to be going towards. Their heart was rapidly racing as the game wound down, the snitch most always being the deciding factor, and Elsi racing after it having spotted it. Dori knew how big of a deal this would be, his first snitch catch. When they were a keeper, they never had to worry about the snitch and they couldn't imagine doing that position at all. Especially since they were a broom racer now. Their own game against Ravenclaw was tomorrow.

"Come on Elsi, you got this.." They muttered under their breath as their eyes focused on him, their body coming to a standstill with the elite focus that they had. The crowd around them thrummed with an energy of its own and Dori was the eye of the hurricane. Hufflepuff's own Howard was there to throw Elsi off, and as a Hufflepuff Dori was delighted, but as an Elsi supporter they were heartbroken. But still, Elsi broke free and Haley hurtled him towards the glittering gold prize which Dori could not spot.

When his hand clasped around the prize, Dori released a breath they hadn't realized they were holding and screamed with joy. "He did it!" Dori turned to the stranger next to them and jostled them with pure joy. "Did you see that? He got it! He won the game!" Dori dropped their current sign and scrambled for the sign that declared Elsi the best seeker in the history of Quidditch. They could only hope their screams of pride were heard about the crowd as the short Hufflepuff stood on the bench with their sign held high. "Elsi! You did it! You got it! I'm so proud of you! You did it!" They gave their condolences to the Hufflepuffs around them but couldn't help but beam with pride at their lion pulling the victory for his house.

The brief thought about kissing him passed through their mind, but now was not the time and luckily he was nowhere near them for them to act on the impulsive, completely random thought. The denial was still strong within the stubborn badger.
