Long awaited day
Alina was sitting in the library, reading a book about the wizarding history in Europe. It was one of her favorite books to read in her free time. The library was dark and kind of spooky, except for the small light by Alinas desk, but Alina was used to being up late, as she was tonight. She just couldn´t sleep, knowing that the acceptance letter would come sometime this day, the 31st July.
¨Доброе утро, мам!¨ Alina said, sitting down at the breakfast table, she really couldn´t get any sleep. (Good morning, mom)
¨Доброе!¨ her mom answered ¨You know what day is it. right?¨ she continued in English.
¨Yeah, yeah¨ Alina said without emotion, she was just too tired to feel something, even tho she was excited.
¨Oh, hello!¨ Fyodor came rushing down the stairs, he was clearly excited as one can be. ¨Letter day! Oh Yeah!¨
¨Calm down Fed!¨ Maria came down the stairs too. ¨Oh, good morning! Everyone is up already. huh?¨ Oh Alina wanted to sleep so bad, the tiredness never has been so strong. She ate breakfast and went up the stairs.
¨Алина, ты не подождешь, когда твой отец вернется домой?¨ Alina heard her mother from the kitchen. (Alina, won´t you wait until your father gets home?)
¨Не, я слишком усталa, я немного посплю.¨ she answered. She was almost in her room. (No, I´m too tired. I´ll take a nap) She opened her doors and just fell in her bed, falling asleep imediately.
She woke up at around 4 p.m. and went down the stairs again.
¨Look who´s up¨ a bald man with an intimidating black goatee, some cool tattoos sat by the kitchen island sipping on a beer. ¨Fyodor, Maria and your Mother went to Diagonalley to buy their things.¨
¨Our letters came?¨ Alina was shocked. How could´ve she missed the moment her acceptance letter came. ¨When will I go shopping then?¨
¨Don´t worry, love. We´ll go some other day. Just me and you, father and daughter day, I promise¨
¨Alright. Where is it by the way?¨ Alina really wanted to open it and to read it. Her dreams, although she new it was gonna happen, have totally came through.
¨On the counter there.¨ Her father said. Although he looked intimidating, he was the nicest and funniest person Alina had ever known. ¨Look, How about if, when we would go shopping, i´d get you a present?¨
¨Oh, for sure¨ Alina said, but she didn´t even hear the question. She had opened her letter and read it thorugh 3 times. ¨It´s really happening isn´t it, dad¨
¨конечно, сердце.¨ (Sure is, love).
