The Antithesis of Grace

Rory scurried down the mostly unoccupied halls at a surprising rate considering his lack of athletic prowess. Similar to a line once remarked by the White Rabbit, he was late, he was late, for a very important date. In his right hand he clutched the large picnic basket containing his dessert contributions for the first Sweets and Treats Club meeting.
The blonde had already completed most of the setup for the meeting on the Hogwarts ground, yet had failed to remember that he left behind his treats in his room. By most standards, Rory was not late. In fact, he would still arrive minutes ahead of the meeting's start time. Yet the blonde was a worrier, who preferred to anticipate the worst. If he didn't hurry, people may assume he was a bad club leader, and surely that damage to the club's reputation would ensure its failure.
So, a brisk walk to his room and back would be necessary. The way up was brutal -- it was truly magical how many stairs he had to travel. If he was panting by the time he reached his room and retrieved the picnic basket, the frail boy was practically defeated now. It was like all of his decisions up to then, from his initial idea to start a club, were now worth questioning.
At least he was too focused to notice the occasional odd look that came his way, which would've further convinced him to just give up. Looking back, he would realize that it was rather silly to travel so quickly through the halls. At least he wasn't running, because that surely would be a violation of some rule -- whether formal or not.
As the boy rounded a corner, his right foot suddenly stumbled on his left shoe. It was like time slowed down. His eyes widened as he began to fall, arms reflexively rising to protect his face. Unfortunately, as Rory did not realize in the moment, the action would cause him to drop the wicker basket, along with all the lovingly crafted cake rolls he had prepared.
Ah, the joys of being clumsy.

The Antithesis of Grace
23rd October 2023 Outfit | Corridors
Yet another long and boring schoolday... At least it was over and Harley could catch some well-deserved free time. What better way to spend it than sitting by the lake and drawing? Maybe even go for a wander around the grounds before dinner. Well, there were certainly more productive ways, like doing his homework or going over the stuff he's learnt that day.
Nah, having some time to relax was well-deserved. Studying could wait for another day. Mondays were gruelling enough without extra studying. So there he went, from the dorms through the common room down the corridors and towards the grounds. Or that was the plan. Frankly, he still struggled to find his way around the castle, almost two months into the term. It was quite embarrassing really, not that he cared what others thought.
Admittedly though, it was getting a bit ridiculous after the fifth wrong turn, even if there was nothing he could do about it other than keep going and hope the next one will be the one. So that's what he did, his pace quickening in frustration as he was just about to round the corner—
THUD!
Taken aback, Harley instinctively reached for the picnic basket as the blonde boy tripped in front of him, narrowly saving it from hitting the ground, treats almost scattering all over the floor. His eyes widened in horror as the boy hit the floor. "Bloomin’ ‘eck, you alright?!" he yelped.
For a moment, the young Hufflepuff simply stood there, unsure of what to do as he glanced into the basket out of curiosity. Whatever it was for it seemed important— and delicious. Oh... The moment of realisation hit him, offering a helping hand to the boy with a warm yet rueful smile. Saving the basket instead of the boy made him feel a little guilty. Sure the treats were fine, but to him, that shouldn't have been the priority.
