It had not just been a rainy day, but a rainy week. Gyda did not mind, not at all. She had grown up in Scotland, the dreary weather was familiar to her. Additionally, the rainy weather would stop most students from going outside. That was exactly the setting Gyda was aiming for. Her 'social battery' was once again drained to the bottom. Classes the past week were filled with assignments that required Gyda to talk and interact with other students. She was done, for this week at least.

Her final class had just finished. Gyda had dumped her satchel with her books and quills on her bed and had raced straight outside, to the court yard. Just like she expected she found the court yard to be void of other students. The few that made their way through the courtyard were running, and some of the girls were covering their hair with their satchels above their heads, against the rain. Gyda shrugged and calmy continued on with her stroll. She did not mind the drip of rain on her face, as she walked and walked. Unlike her usual appearance, she was not wearing a had. The hats were not neccesarily appreciated in classrooms, so during her lessons she sadly had to leave her beloved hats behind during classes. She was in such a hurry that she did not put one back on, before leaving for the courtyard. Where most people would experience frizzy or fuzzy hair, when submitted to the rain, Gyda often found that her hair would look better after being outside in the rain.

She soon started noticing relieve in her tense posture, after a full week of studying, and she found herself sighing in relieve every now and then. After strolling around the entire courtyard for a bit, she took a seat in one of the arches overlooking the impressive landscape surrounding Hogwarts.

Pranks! Andrea love pranks. Today only she has already pranked about 20 different students. Mostly 1st years, they often didn’t try getting revenge on her afterwards. They often laughed and became friends with Andrea because she had pranked them. It was always fun to prank people that didn’t get extremely mad.

It was raining outside today. Why today? The only day Andrea needed to run for her life and hide. Outside was the best hiding place. You could always hide in the crowds of people or behind a tree or bush. Andrea had accidentally done a prank on the wrong student. The girl was a fifth year, she had a fifth year girl running after her. She ran for her life down stairs, up stairs and straight forward. She ran for about a good 20 minutes before she came to the door that led her outside. The plan was like this: hide behind a wall in the corridors and cast a spell on a first years student. The spell was supposed to make her face blue for 15 minutes. This is what happened: Andrea was hiding behind one of the cold stone walls and she heard someone walk towards her. the girl walking wasn’t a first year but Andrea didn’t look to check if she wasn’t so she decided to do the prank on her but it ended up that she was a fifth year and she got super mad at Andrea and now she is running after her with a blue face. The blue in her face should only had last for 15 minutes and it had been 20 minutes already so Andrea might of said the spell wrong. It wouldn’t be permanent hopefully.

The girl wasn’t harmed and it was only supposed to be a fun prank. The girl must of had a bad day before I pranked her, Andrea tough. There was no other reason to be this mad over a prank. It wasn’t a spell that did anything more then making your face blue. Andrea opened the door to the courtyard. Her hart was raising as she as quick as she could closed the door after her so the fifth year would think she ran another way. Andrea ran to the bush closest to her. Her hair and clothes got wet and it was freezing outside. She sat behind the bush for awhile, maybe 10 min waiting to see if the girl was still after her. She didn’t come outside so she must of ran another way.

Andrea sat behind the bush on her knees for a little while catching her breath. She looked around and saw a girl. Andrea got up from the ground and stood by the bush looking at the girl.

After a while Gyda had scanned for every single one of the details of the view that was before her. She had seen, probably, ever single tree and path, every wanderer, everything. By this time, she felt calm again. For the past minutes, she had felt the tension flowing from her body, while the rain danced on her cheeks. She started to grow cold, and became more and more aware of her surroundings again. Minutes before that, she had heard some commotion coming from the corridors, but nothing that really concerned her, she thought. She was just standing peacefully glaring into the abyss.
However, as she came back to herself once more, she noticed somewhat of a presence. It was difficult to exactly pin-point what it was, or where it was coming from, but Gyda noticed she was no longer the only one lingering in the courtyard. She released an annoyed sigh. Good grievance, what does a girl need to do to be left alone. Apparently, standing in the rain and cold wasn't enough. Gyda took a few calming breaths, hoping her irritated face would fade in something more friendly, or at least neutral, before slowly turning around. She scanned the courtyard, seeing who was there.
Not to far from her, next to some bush, was standing a girl. The girl had brown hair, and couldn't be a lot older than her. Or at least, Gyda thought so. The girl was staring at her, and as she had heard little to no movement behind her in the moments before that, Gyda had the feeling that the girl had been looking at her for a while now. Usually, Gyda is not the vocal type, she rather be left alone. The easiest way to be left alone, is to be quiet and invisible. However, the cold was seeping into Gyda's bones, and the staring of the girl made her very uncomfortable. The staring indicated that Gyda no longer was invisible.
"What are you looking at?" Gyda asked, trembling from the humid cold, trying to keep her voice steady and neutral.

It felt like it was raining more and more for every second Andrea was standing still. She was cold and wet. It was dripping water from her hair and robes and she didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t go inside because then she would be chased by this fifth year girl again, but if she continued standing still she would freeze to death.

Andrea didn’t answer the girl and started walking towards her instead. When she has walked a few steps she stoped to look at the girl. She looked like a first year just like her. She continued walking until she was standing right next to her. Hi. What are you doing outside? Aren’t you cold? she looked at the girl with a little smile. I’m Andrea, who are you? She might of asked a lot of questions at the same time, but she was really curious who the girl was. She doesn’t usually go up to people and ask them who they are. It was something she thought was weird when people did, but now she did it herself.

It was weird seeing someone out at this time. A rainy, cold Friday. Most students was chilling in their common rooms at this time or studying for exams. Andrea was still new to magic, wizards and witches but she still didn’t think this was normal in the magical world. Wizards and witches can be cold too right? Maybe pure-bloods and half-bloods couldn’t get cold. She had no idea. As a muggle-born she was questioning everything, even the obvious things like this. She grew up like most muggles, not knowing anything about magic. She didn’t know she was a witch before she got her Hogwarts letter.

Gyda felt annoyance simmering beneath her skin as the girl just plainly ignored her question, and made her way over to Gyda. Gyda did not desire a conversation, cozy banter or whatever. She wanted to be left alone, that's why she had come outside in the cold and rain, for crying out loud. Apparently, her overall demeanor was not entirely repulsive to any social bug. Gyda rolled her eyes.

"Hi. What are you doing outside? Aren’t you cold?" The girl asked, now standing next to Gyda. By the gods, she is smiling at me. "I’m Andrea, who are you?" Gyda fought the urge to openly roll her eyes again. She was nowhere near the mood for this conversation, or any conversation for that matter. Gyda had done her best, so far, to avoid as many people as possible while she was at Hogwarts. She figured, the longer she kept this mask up, the more disinterest people would have. Eventually, people will just give up on you, give up on trying to include you, and that was what she was waiting for.

"Gyda. Pleasure." She said curtly. "I come here for peace and silence. The cold and the rain is secondary to my suffering." Gyda's teeth were clenched while she spoke, and she had the feeling that it sounded as if every word she spoke sounded like anguish. It was not entirely a facade, though. Gyda honestly had zero to no social skills. The only way of communicating outside of her home was anger, sarcasm and short answers. Even so, who was this Andrea to question her motives anyway. She was standing outside as well, unlike anybody else. "What are you doing here anyway?"

When the girl rolled her eyes before answering Andrea’s question she realized that the girl wasn’t interested in talking to her. That wasn’t really nice Andrea thought to herself while looking at the girl in front of her. “Gyda, pleasure” Gyda was a nice name. She looked like a Gyda, not in a bad way. “I come here for peace and silence. The cold and the rain is secondary to my suffering” Andrea realized that she had just ruined the girl’s peace and silence and that was probably the reason why she seemed so enjoyed. “What are you doing here anyways?” the girl asked. Andrea didn’t know how to tell her what had happened without sounding like a complete weirdo. Making people’s faces turn blue wasn’t a really normal thing to be going around doing on a Friday. In fact it wasn’t a normal thing to do any day. She didn’t go into details and just simply said, someone chased me and I needed to hide. she wanted the girl to like her not thinking she was a weirdo. She probably was, but she was funny and cool to in her opinion. Hopefully the girl thought the same. If the girl though Andrea was weird it would be fine because Andrea had to be honest to herself and admit that she thought Gyda was weird too.

Annoyance was still simmering beneath Gyda's skin. However, as the cold started seeping into Gyda's bones, she grew curious as to why Andrea would come outside. Gyda knew that she herself was insane enough to endure this cold for the sake of peace, but other people... Gyda eyed the girl as she seemed hesitant to answer her question about her reasons for running out in the rain and cold. "Someone chased me and I needed to hide," Andrea ultimately said. Gyda let her answer sink in for a bit. Being chased could have dozens of reasons. Good ones, and very bad ones. Now let it be known that Gyda usually did not pry in other people's business. She did not particularly care... It was the perk of preferably being left alone. However, this innocent looking girl, being chased, needing to hide... It did peak Gyda's interests. "Well, that is awfully cryptic," Gyda said, grinning at the girl. "Do tell. How did a girl like you end up being chased across Hogwarts? Chased... to such an extend that you would be desperate enough to come out here, in the rain." Gyda raised her brows at Andrea, as an encouragement to start talking. Meanwhile, Gyda leaned back against the stone arches, through which she was peering into the distance only moments ago.

The girl is starting to seem a bit interested in talking to Andrea now. To Andrea she seemed to really care why she was outside. Gyda was a cool person Andrea thought and she would like to be her friend. Because of that she answered her questions nicely even though Gyda was a bit rude to her. She really wanted to get to know Gyda and to be nice she decided to answer Gyda’s question.

Hopefully she doesn’t think Andrea is weird and crazy after telling Gyda why she was chased. ”So… I was doing a prank or I was thinking of doing a prank on one of the first year students.” she takes a deep breath and looks at Gyda.”But I accidentally did the prank on a fifth year student instead of a first year.” she takes another deep breath and continues. ”The fifth year girl got mad and started chasing me and I ended up hiding outside.” She didn’t tell Gyda what the prank was. Andrea wasn’t proud of this prank. She had done a lot of fun and cool pranks that she was proud of but this one was just to dumb to get in trouble for. ”I was scared the girl would beat me up. That’s why I ran and hid” she smiles and adds on, ”So that’s how I got here”

Gyda hated herself for being interested in Andrea's story in the first place. She defied her own wishes of peace and quiet. Then, after all, Gyda was not an entirely horrid creature. She just really enjoyed pretending to be one.

”So… I was doing a prank or I was thinking of doing a prank on one of the first year students.” Andrea takes a deep breath and looks at Gyda. A prank? Really? ”But I accidentally did the prank on a fifth year student instead of a first year.” Andrea takes another deep breath and continues. ”The fifth year girl got mad and started chasing me and I ended up hiding outside. I was scared the girl would beat me up. That’s why I ran and hid” Andrea smiles and adds on, ”So that’s how I got here.”

Gyda raises her brows. "Some prank... Must have been a good one if you piss of some one to such an extent." Gyda grinned. "You know, partially I would think you should own it. Worst case she'll repay you for whatever you did to her. It is a girl, Andrea, we do not resort to beating, instead we use faul play." Gyda whistled between her teeth. "Honestly, I would just face her. Then she'll get even, publicly, and it will safe you a year worth of misery." Gyda angled her head. "What... sort of prank did you pull on her exactly? You got me all curious now..."

Gyda was right girls didn’t usually start fights, but Andrea was still scared of the fifth year girl. The girl was a lot bigger then her and if she didn’t start a fight maybe she used some sort of magic on Andrea. Fifth years knew a lot more spells then first year and Andrea didn’t know any good spells yet. It was a risk Andrea didn’t want to take, but she had to. She couldn’t stand outside for the rest of her life and she wanted too say sorry too the girl, because it was all an accident. The girl looked really mad when Andrea did the prank on her so Andrea wasn’t scared for no reason, but Gyda was also right when she said it would save Andrea a year of misery facing her. She didn’t want too be known as the person who did random pranks too annoy fifth years.“Maybe your right. Maybe I should just face her.” Andrea says to Gyda. She sighs and looks at the door that led her outside. Not wanting too admit to Gyda that she was scared Andrea said, “what’s the worst that can happen?” with a mix of a stressed and calm voice.

”what…. sort of prank did you pull on her exactly? You got me all curious now. Gyda says to Andrea. It wasn’t a good prank and Andrea knew that. It would be a lot funnier if it was done on a first year student and not a fifth year student. Andrea wasn’t excited about telling Gyda what the prank was. She didn’t want Gyda too laugh at her, but she couldn’t not tell it to her now after all she had said about what happened. ”Fine I will tell you but don’t laugh at me. Ok?” Andrea takes a deep breath. “I know it’s dumb and not even that big of a deal.” she stops and takes a nervous look at Gyda. “I turned her face blue with a spell I learned from a third year student.” It wasn’t a spell she knew. Someone had told her to try it out and she did. She most likely did it wrong and that was why the girls face was blue longer then it was supposed to be. She was pretty sure it wasn’t dangerous and the girls face was most likely not blue anymore.

“I guess I got too go then. It was nice meeting you.” Andrea stands in front of Gyda for a bit deciding if she was going too give her a hug, hand shake or nothing and just leave. “Bye” she said after a bit and started walking too the door. It didn’t look like Gyda was a person that liked hugs and a hand shake was more normal doing when you met the person not when you were leaving. While walking she thought about what Gyda had told her. What’s the worst that can happen? That was going too be her motivation to face the girl.
