JULY 14^TH, 2022 - NOON - THE LEAKY CAULDRON (that's in London)

The date was set: owls bore invitations to all League of Aspirant Animagi members, welcoming them along on an adventure to a wildcat conservation, free of charge. Pericles waited with an elderly witch in the Leaky Cauldron. The fourth-year sat at a small round table, upon which was a platter of virgin butterbeer, a half-melted candle, and an empty turtle shell. As others arrived, the poised pureblood stood to greet them with smiles, handshakes, and the occasional "How was the trip here?" There was a frosty glass for anyone in need of a sweet pick-me-up.

The stern-faced woman accompanying him was introduced as Tamasa Dralt, Peri's grandmother. She was a shrewd woman with sharp features, a cutting glower, and cheeks wrinkled from the force of a lifelong scowl. Tamasa stood tall in a black and gray sari, fingers steepled over her abdomen. Whether attendees were led to the table or dropped off at the door, she kept a keen eye out, ensuring they had been brought by an adult. The old sorceress was not about to take anyone's charge so far away without permission.

Great cats. The portkey trip to Kent was a promising one, with the owner of the establishment described as "a very dear old friend" of Tamasa's, who tersely added that although it was owned and operated by a witch, that she did "not expect any of you to take that as an invitation to use magic, at any time." As she addressed the group, Peri snuck them an apologetic smile on behalf of his grandma's severe nature. His was a sort of she means well look.

Members received an owl from Pericles inviting them on a club field trip over summer! He is covering the expenses of a trip to Wildcat Conservation & Safari in Kent, England. There, our aspirants will have the opportunity to see majestic felines up close and personal. They will be chaperoned by his grandmother, Tamasa.

Location & Travel
League members will arrive in a mutual meeting place: the Leaky Cauldron. They can do so via the Floo network, unless of course they live near enough to be driven/bussed/taken by train to London. They will need to be dropped off by their parent or guardian, as Pericles' grandma will want to confirm face-to-face (for the first trip) that they consent to their child coming along on an adventure. From there, they'll be using a Portkey to reach the sanctuary. Your character will come alone, no guests, guardians, sibling, etc.

Guidelines
"As a level of kinship is required and there is purpose and thought involved in the ritual, it would not be possible for a wizard to become an Animagus of an animal that they do not know.... An Animagi is created from passion and interest. This animal is forever etched on your soul." -Animagi Lore

The plot point of these trips is to give your character a chance to potentially meet their animagus animal, enabling them to develop a familiarity and passion for it. We don't want to do anything crazy (underage magic, animal maulings, lost children, etc.) and run the risk of breaking site rules, shutting down the potential for future adventures. I won't tell you on an OOC level to not let your character cause mischief, if that's in their nature, but keep in mind that a natural IC consequence of this is that they will likely be excluded from future trips.

This will run similar to the public campaigns/events, based in narrative storytelling with dice rolls where necessary. Please don't hijack NPCs without asking, including the animals. Post order will be established once everyone joins in, reply deadline is within 1 week of your turn to keep this ball rolling.
