STUPID SPELLS
It was quite the task to try and learn transfiguration spells. They were all so…iffy. It was difficult to get them right, and even harder to find the proper materials she needed. Where was she meant to find a Guinea Fowl to practice on? And anything involving living things Ava refused to do on her own, which left her with…very little to do. For whatever reason the third year spells all revolved around transforming things into animals and animals into things. Why she would need to know how to turn a Guinea Fowl to a Guinea Pig was beyond her, but she was grateful for any spell practice she could get.
What she needed was a tutor, which Charlie heard quite a bit about. Frankly, the entire school heard a lot about it between Ava’s shouted annoyances. Things like “WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE IN THE SCHOOL WHO LIKES TRANSFIGURATION?” and “I NEED SOMEONE TO HELP ME LEARN THESE STUPID SPELLS!” It likely only added to the dislike surrounding her, but she had heard a few students giggle at her outbursts which left her hopeful.
She was out in the halls again doing absolutely nothing on this Friday afternoon, and anyone who passed her would have noticed that she seemed completely unfocused and unhinged. This was due to the fact that she had spent weeks trying to figure out a transfiguration spell, and couldn’t find a way to practice it. She was too nervous to speak to the professor and had no other ideas on how to find help, other than go to an older student and ask for help which was a definite no.

STUPID SPELLS
Quiet was not something Meenauh could expect any time soon, it seemed. Especially, when it was the beginning of the new year. Even a month past the 1st of September, the amount of the Prefect workload was rising with every day, while she usually expected it to drop. But the younger blood, not yet tired of constant danger the castle would put them in any way... the younger blood still was seeking for any kind of dangerous adventures. As if they didn't have lessons to study...
Her round was in the corridors on the second floor, which were really long, but at least linear. The crowds of students were having all the types of chats. She really wanted to put some Muffliato on, but the duty did not allow. She had to survive through it, catch the rule-breakers, help those in need — all the regular stuff in between fighting hags, cursed dolls and the forest horrors.
Meenauh was moving with quite fast speed, but was vigilant. She turned past the corner and passed a few students and in a few steps, she slowed down until full stop. First, she inquired herself why, then she travelled with her look across the stones of the wall, trying to find the answer why and only after that she started to move backwards step by step until she levelled with a girl who seemed pretty distracted and like... scattered around, or something. The girl might've drunk a potion she needed to pour on (6 (!) cases over the last two weeks), or something equally stupid that put her off her hinges.
"Are you okay?" she asked the girl. She couldn't see her face, so only guessing by the height and overall looks — first or second year, most probably. But once she'd see the face, she'd know very well who she found in the corridors.

STUPID SPELLS
Transfiguration was a tricky subject, there were bound to be times that you couldn’t hit the target. It was a subject many other students struggled with. Ava didn’t think she would mind so much if she were given the chance to practice the spell, but in the moment she hadn’t even attempted it, and she was already feeling her hopes drained as the ideas of how to test her spellwork narrowed.
So far, brooding had gotten her nowhere.
To say Ava was surprised when someone interrupted her annoyance was an understatement. The previously zoned out second year seemed to jump as she looked around her, eyes finally landing on none other than Gryfindor’s prefect.
That seemed to shock her more than being interrupted from her brooding. Ava tilted her head for a second, studying the prefect before she ducked her head again, hiding her face under a head of messy brown hair. She wasn’t sure what of her reputation would be known to the prefect, only that if she knew anything, this wouldn’t be a pleasant conversation.
Best case scenario, her face wasn’t placeable in the prefect's mind, and she would let Ava off without fuss.
Realizing that a question had been spoken a minute ago, Ava kept her head down as she answered. “Fine, Miss.” Her posture didn’t agree.

STUPID SPELLS
The girl seemed to try really hard to keep herself composed and reserved, despite all the chaotic and nervous energy that was naturally coming from her. Meenauh frowned and squinted her eyes. Was the girl crying? Meenauh looked around, but it didn't seem like anything happened in any recent time.
It was most probably none of her business as the girl wasn't breaking any rules, or nothing a prefect should be really concerned about unless it was dangerous. But time at Hogwarts sort of dulled the perception of danger. Danger could have been brewing right and right now in the mind of a small girl, who did not have anyone to speak about her problems. What was being created in her sweet young mind under the circumstances of stress and inability to be open... yes, it was danger. Even if it wasn't dangerous for others, it was dangerous for herself foremost.
Should a prefect be concerned? No.
Should a Meenauh be concerned? Probably, also a no.
First, they lock in themselves, and the next thing you see is attacking classmates with knives in the middle of the night... So, probably a yes.
"You can tell me, Miss," she shot back the 'miss' at the girl — it wasn't to be the best choice of words, but it was not the case when she could easily melt her usual intimidation profile.
"You can tell me, and I promise to help you with your issue," she said in a calm but still stern tone. It wasn't a command, but a real promise. The girl just had to accept it.
