Hello, my name is Astra Moonfaith, I was born on May 2, 2012 and I just arrived at Hogwarts and was selected for Hufflepuff. I am a half-blood, as my father is a wizard and my mother is a muggle.
I look like an ordinary 11 years old girl. I am neither very tall nor very short, I am slim, very fair skinned and with quite a few freckles. My eyes are dark blue (my father calls them "sapphire" color) and my hair is long and wavy of a nice copper color. My mother usually says that I take advantage of my good face and a certain angelical air to get what I want, and it's a little true... Why not? Everyone has to work with what they have, right?

PERSONALITY

Being from a mixed-race family, I've had a relationship with both worlds, the magical and the Muggle, and I've learned to value the good things of both (and to see the things that can be improved in both too), which has always made it easier for me to make friends wherever I've gone. I have a calm and cheerful character, willing to listen and help anyone who needs it... It is difficult to get angry, but when I get angry.... Well, you better not try it...
I love to read and learn new things, and I always have a book in my hands. That's why my father always believed that I would end up in Ravenclaw, like himself and all his family before him. But no, I was selected in Hufflepuff, and I'm happy and very proud of it (and so is he). I love animals, magical or not, and I have a very good hand with them. Well, to be honest, not with all of them: spiders give me panic. However, the branch of magic I like the most is not Care of Magical Creatures, but wand making... so, my dream is to become a wand maker at least as good as Ollivander. Although I have another dream: to become a teacher at Hogwarts... Do you think I can be both?

HISTORY/BACKGROUND STORY

I have always been homeschooled, as is now my little sister, Arwen, who is 5 years old. My parents thought it was much safer for the statute of secrecy, in view of how easily the magic slipped away when I had one of my tantrums...
My father works for the Ministry of Magic. He is an Auror. And he has always had to travel a lot. It was precisely on one of these trips, to Spain, where he met my mother, who worked as a journalist there, and fell in love with her. Within a year, they were married and for their second anniversary, I arrived. That's why I was born in Spain. But a few months later we moved to London where I grew up. Here my mother found a job collaborating with the Ministry of Magic, in something related to magic news in the muggle press... And since she works mostly from home, she can take care of our education... And believe me, she can be a very demanding teacher.

FIRST INSTANCE OF MAGIC

Every time my mother tells me about the first time I did magic, it still makes me smile, although my father laughs the most... She still remembers the frightened look on my mother's face when she came home from work and told her what had happened: We had had an exhausting day because we had been eating all afternoon, and I, who was one and a half years old, was excited and very tired from so much activity. When we got home my mother gave me dinner early in the hope that I would take a bath and go to bed right away, hoping that the exhaustion would get the better of me so that she could rest too. However, I was too nervous. I didn't want dinner, I wanted more beautiful things, more people around me.... The bath was an ordeal for her and by the time she tried to put on my pajamas, my screams were already stentorian.... She took me to the living room and put on classical music in the hope that it would calm me down, as it did other times. However, this time it did nothing... on the contrary, my tantrum reached such a point that suddenly the three vases decorating the sideboard in the living room exploded. The three of them at the same time scattered pieces of porcelain and dried flowers all around us. The triple burst was so loud and so unexpected that my mother gave a big jump and I stopped screaming with fright, clung to her and let her finish dressing me without another sound, after which she took me in her arms and put me to sleep. I was still quiet and scared, but apparently, seeing me safe in my crib, I fell asleep right away.
When my father arrived, my mother told him everything, still trembling with fright, I showed him the mess in the living room and my father burst out laughing, went to my room, kissed me happily on the forehead and returned to my mother. With a wave of his wand he repaired the vases and picked up each flower, placing it in its place. Then he poured a few glasses of red wine, hugged my mother and toasted the new witch in the family, that is, me.
