feel free to skip most of this, as its just setting the tone and how he got there. I did not want to make a solo at the Platform forum. Sorry!!I think this is the place were you can start reading.
Change is hard, never easy. Life is like that, always changing, things not being in your control. Or in other words your own hand. Not to long ago Alex was a normal kid, living his own normal life with his normal family. Welcoming a new member, being his younger sister Juila. Who was only a tad over the age of one. He thought they were as normal as you could be, were magic and powers were only but a dream. Things you saw on tv, or in books. Thinking ‘wow I wish that could be me’. Yet here they were, trying to find a parking place at Kings Cross station, Alex in the backseat with Juila. Who was babbling away her baby nonsense. His parents were talking in the front seat, talking as adults about how there was no platform 9 ¾. From all the time they had been to the station in the past, going on some trips they did not want to drive there.
It did not take long for them to find a parking space, it was lucky close to the entrance so they did not have to haul Alex’s luggage a long way. His parents got out first, His mother opening the trunk of the car, were the space was taken all up by Juila’s stroller and Alex’s trunk of supplies he would need. He watched as his mother pulled out the stroller and fastened Juila in it, as she was still learning to walk. “Alex, care to help me with your trunk? Until we can get a trolly to put in on.” His father asked with his normal chery tone. “Yes dad” He replied quickly. It would be a lie if he said he was not nervous. His stomach might as well have been called a butterfly greenhouse. The trunk was heavy, even with his dad taking most of the weight. Alex was just holding up the back so it was not getting dragged on the pavement. Just his luck all the books he needed, and some of the comics were in that end. Books about potions, and charms. Not very normal.
Just as he thought they got a trolly and it was much easier for him to move the trunk all by himself. “See, I told you there is no platform 9 ¾.” He overheard his mother say, pointing at platform nine, and ten. Alex looked in between them, and sure enough, there was no label for a 9 ¾. Alex lowered his head, confused. He knew Hogwarts to be real, he was sure of it. Diagon Alley was sure real, so why was the platform not here? There was a moment of quiet in the Mason family. All of them racking there brains, did they get the station wrong? Or what? That was when a nice looking fellow walked over to them. “Sorry, Do you need help finding the platform? My son, he’s starting his third year at the school. And I went there myself.” The stranger spoke, He knew how to get to the platform? Alex thought to himself, he must have been a wizard. He looked at his parents, If this guy could help them then he could go to this school! And become a real wizard.
His parents looked at each other, Alex saw them give a small nod. "Some help would be great. We don't know were this platform could be." His father said to the kind stranger. The man gave a smile, and looked around. "Just follow me, and try not to draw attention to yourself." He said as he started to walk to one of the pillars. But he did not stop, He just walked right up to it. The man looked at Alex's mother. "Just walk, and dont stop. Trust me." He said to her. Looking at the brick wall. Alex watched as his mom gave a confused look at his dad, but if this guy was a wizard. There must be magic at play. So what harm could happen. The stroller would just bump into the wall, not very bad. So the family looked as Scarlet walked to the wall, and through it. "Wow!" Alex said with much amazement. Looking at his dad. "Im going next!" He told his dad, more excitement on his face then the previous nerves.
Alex looked at the wall, he choose not to think of all that could go wrong and just walk to it. If he thought about it, he felt like he would get really nervous and then somehow mess it up. So he just walked (A tad stiffly) into the wall and emerged on the other side, It was much louder then on the side he was just at. It was a whole other station, that was not there before. As he looked at the sign, it was in fact platform 9 ¾. He had made it. He was curious as to how he got there, and how he just walked through the wall. That would have to be answered another another day. As his father and the nice stranger had just walked through. It looked as though his parents thanked him and he walked over to his own family. Alex really apricated his help. His parents did to. There was no way they would have gotten here on there own.
The bustle of the platform was loud, there were people of all ages, some talking, a few crying, even some people like Alex, who were confused and amazed. There was also a lot of noise from animals. In summary it was loud, and overwhelming. Alex was sticking close to his parents. Staying to there side. Looking at the train, and all the things going on around them. This was were his new chapter would start, and were he would begin his magic journey. "Be sure to write us, how ever wizards do that." His mom spoke to him, his mom calling him a wizard was weird to him. He had never been one before. It would need to be something he got used to. "I will mom, Ill find a way" Alex said with a smile. There had to be at least one, there was no way he could just not talk to his parents. If there was not one that he could find he would just make one.
As Alex again looked at the train his mom, and his dad brought him into a hug. Now if this was any other day he would have shrugged them off. This was not any other day. And he gave them a tight hug back. He would miss them a lot. There was no denying it. One the hug was done and some goodbyes were said, Alex, with much help from his dad, was able to somehow hold his trunk. And bring it onto the train. Taking his first steps in the train was insane. It may have just been a train, it was also one of his first steps to becoming a real wizard. The first of his kind in his family. He took a deep breath and went to find a compartment to sit in.
Lucky for him he found one really close to the front. As his trunk was not light, and he did not want to lug it all the way to the back of the train. He now needed to somehow get it up onto the rack, without dropping it on himself. That would suck majorly. He mustered all the strength he could and pushed it up above his head, getting half of it onto the rack. Good thing for him, he considered himself more strong then some of his old classmates. He then just had to turn it so it was all on the rack and not just the one half of it. With that all done and over with he slumped down on the seat, one of the window ones of course. And was left with only his thoughts to keep him compony for now.
