Worn Out Places PV Robin Monroe Closed

Tracing his fingers along the cold stone wall, Pyxis traipsed down one of the many corridors of the school. The final classes of the day had been let out less than an hour ago, and his only companions were the few students rushing past to get to their destination. Every so often, he passed a few that seemed to be on the same mission as him - to explore every inch of the castle. He didn’t fancy calling himself an adventurer in real life, but he was definitely one while playing video games. And this whole magic school deal was starting to feel like he’d strapped on a virtual reality helmet and isekaied himself into some new anime game world. As anime as Scotland could be, anyways.

He’d considered joining up with some others to traverse the castle together, but Pyxis always had more fun doing these things on his own for the most part. That, and he hadn’t found the time to even make friends. Any introductions in class were always done while distracted by literally everyone. Face blindness wasn’t a trait he usually attached to himself, but the boy really couldn’t recall anyone he’d seen in class. He supposed he should get on that - make connections just like his parents taught him. But scouting out the castle came first and not many were as absorbed as he was. Most of the people he'd met were more interested in chilling in their commons or taking a gander at the grounds and that big, scary lake. So on his own he would go.

He continued moving at a slow pace, but his eyes were angled up, enjoying the chatter of the portraits above him and admiring the high ceilings. The portraits took some time to get used to, but after one day of classes, he had already moved on from thinking about the logistics of paintings that were actually living. Now, he was more enraptured by the fact that he was going to school in a literal castle. Oxford had nothing on -

“Oh!” His gaze was brought back down to eye level because he had bumped into something. No, someone. “Sorry ‘bout that. The ceiling is just too cool.” Unaware of how odd complimenting the roof was, he observed the person - the girl - he’d collided sounded. Oh. Em. Gee. “Wait a minute. Are you… Robin!”
