A week full of classes has come and gone quicker then the flash of light. The frigid fall air wafted throughout the Hogwarts castle grounds gently. The sun settling off in the distant horizon as it slowly descended from its spot high above in the sky. The quiet songs of the awakening owls drifted throughout the castle grounds as the sound of chatter drifted downwards from the Owlery.
Helena trudged upwards towards the owlery a quill in one hand and parchment in the other. The young Hufflepuff girl was trembling in her black loafers her mind racing as she continued her journey up the whiny twisty stairs of the owlery. Her heart raced as quickly as a rabbit speeding off her pale face had small droplets of sweat trickle downwards. Her breathing was rather fast.
As Helena arrived to her destination the young first year girl sat down on a small bench next to a few owl podiums which had a few owls resting upon them. Helena focused strictly on the parchment in front of her as her hand trembled in utter fear, her mind swirling with worry and dread. Taking in a deep breath Helena calmed herself a bit as she slowly pressed the tip of the quill to the parchment in front of her that she had resting in the bench beside her.
Dear Mother and Father, hope all is well at home. Hogwarts has been swell so far it’s more magical than I could ever imagined even with the stories you both have told me. Unfortunately I wish I could tell you some good news and tell you all that I have been sorted into Slytherin, but unfortunately I bare bad news. The sorting hat has sorted me into Hufflepuff. I know this maybe quite a shock and rather a disappointment, but I assure you I will do my very best to not disappoint you two any further. I will do my best to not embarrass the Rose name any further.
My Sincerest apologies your loving daughter Helena Rose.
Staring down at the letter in her hands quietly Helena felt her stomach churn as the thought of her parents' reactions concerned the young honey blonde girl. Glancing around the owlery Helena trudged quietly over to one of the schools owls attaching the letter to the small tawny owls foot. Staring quietly at the owl Helena gently brushed one the owls feathers.
”Please be careful on your journey little friend. Please take this to my parents at the Rose Manor please.”
Helena whispered gently to the owl as the owl took off in the evening sky leaving the young girl alone besides a few other school and student owls resting about. Grasping her chest Helena shuddered awaiting her parents to respond back. The young Hufflepuff knew the outcome would not be very settling nor would it be one that she would be excited to hear back from. Helena knew how her parents would react. The young Rose girl was already a disappointment to her parents. Sighing Helena began her journey back to the Hufflepuff common room awaiting for the dreaded letter back from her parents. That she very much did not wish to receive at all.
“I am just the Villain in your story, but a Hero in mine.”
