 Closed  Home Sweet Stadium  Solo
London had never felt like home to Sebastián. Hogwarts was far from the city and as a boy he'd spent all of his holidays in Spain. London was a foreign city with a familiar vibe at best. Graduating from Hogwarts sent the Spaniard to London where he got a job with Gringotts as a Cursebreaker. That was a fun few years of adventure, yet it never kept him in London despite the employer location. He'd always be off on some location studying, digging, exploring, and so forth. When his work partner, who was also his fiancé, had a freak incident with a magical artifact on the job, Sebas only really saw the inside of St Mungos in London. He really never lived there or integrated into the city. Yet now, he found himself with an office and quarters at the London Quidditch Stadium. He was in the heart of wizarding London with a new job, new home, and a new life.

The Stadium was, as in many countries, a cultural institution that Wizards loved to visit. Quidditch games were the big event where Sebas had to make sure his security was on-point, but there was more to it than that. Practice sessions with the team needed to not be invaded by fans. Break-ins at night were possible with people wanting souvenirs or to explore. There were other events too like kids field days in the summer, etc. Sebas had quite a list of procedures and threats to protect against with this job.

This night, one of his first week at this new gig, he sat at his desk with a lantern illuminating the room softly. A scroll of notes about protections around the stadium and nightly checks were present to one side. Sebas had scribbled a bit on a blank parchment to the other side, of changes he thought might be needed to keep things up to date. He lifted the note about protections in use currently.
Current Protections:
Muggle-Repelling Charm
Age Line (Keep Minors out of bar)
Caterwauling Charm (Detects those without tickets)
Security Spell (Cast each night)
Intruder Charm (Cast each night)
Anti-Intruder Jinx (Cast each night)
Sebas muttered to himself, recalling if he had done the nightly tasks. He was certain he had but it always worried him. First week on a job, he didn't want to mess it up. His reputation had gotten him this spot so he couldn't waste it easily. Next he picked up his own notes of suggestions.
Suggested Protections:
Stealth-sensoring Spell
Anti-Disapparation Jinx
Onyx jumped onto the desk and meowed at Sebas as he was finishing his thoughts on the latest suggestions. The cat purred at him and seemed to want to do something now that it was dark. Seemed Sebas had adopted a little night owl, well, cat. He'd just bought Onyx from the shop a couple of days beforehand, and had not even revealed his animagus form to him yet. That would certainly be a shock that his owner could speak to him and be like him.

"Okay, let's do a bit of a patrol. How about that?" Sebas said with a chuckle, getting up from the chair and walking to the middle of the room. Onyx watched with wide eyes and a tilted head, seeming almost spurned by the move right after wanting attention.

The room suddenly expanded and Sebas felt small. It was always a bit of a trip moving from human to cat. With this new feeling also came a new mindset. He felt flexible and powerful despite his size. It almost felt like all his strength was compacted rather than vanished. After a few moments, he remembered to look up to Onyx for a reaction. He was licking himself and didn't see the transformation. Classic.

"Hey, you!" Sebas the Cat said to Onyx, demanding attention. "It's me, your owner."

The cat looked down at Sebas and he could swear it squinted at him. It slunk down from the desk, using the chair as a step, and came up to Sebas. It sniffed him a couple of times and then seemed satisfied.

"Owner? No. But yes, you are him!" Onyx communicated back, then sat in front of him. "You can become like me? Want to fight?"

"Fight? No. Let's go exploring this place. See if we can find anyone, sneakily. We can climb things!" He suggested to Onyx, motioning for him to follow as he moved out the door.

Onyx followed Sebas as they found their way into rafters above the main corridors surrounding the stadium. They jumped and climbed from space to space as they went to each section on their long adventure. At some point, they come across a wizard walking through a corridor below them.

"A person! Attack?" Onyx asked Sebas, getting down into pounce position.

"No. That's just Greg, a security guard. He works for me." Sebas said, putting a paw up to stop Onyx.

"We own him? Okay." Was the reply, then the pair continued, ignoring Greg the Guard.

Another section of the stadium was reached and there was a light that seemed misplaced. Sebas turned the pair to investigate and it seemed a lantern was off that illuminated the home locker rooms. They were enchanted, so it was odd for them to be off rather than permanently on. The pair snuck up to the doorway and slipped inside to investigate.

"There's a person here." Onyx said, looking down one of the aisles of lockers and dressing rooms. "Attack?"

Sebas moved to look as well and indeed saw a person. They seemed to be peeking through lockers and had a bag of things they'd taken. It seemed someone managed to get into the area and was trying to steal from the team. Likely a fan who wanted to secure some cool souvenirs for home. An authentic jersey, maybe some other gear.

"No, he's too big for you. Go hide outside the door. I can handle this." Sebas said to protect his newest friend. They'd need to do some work to prepare that cat for this job, he was certain.

Meanwhile, Sebas moved up on top of the lockers and approached quietly, still in cat form. He was wondering how this man got inside. One glaring flaw in the current protections was a lack of apparition protection. It could be this fan knew the stadium well and waited for night to just pop inside. The previous specialists must not have known a counter, but Sebas had read on it in school and would be able to implement it eventually. For now, they needed to be vigilant for those getting around protections by this teleportation.

The man seemed younger, not likely a student by any stretch of the imagination, but possibly mid-twenties. Sebas decided that enough was enough and hopped down onto the floor nearby, and meowed.

"Ah- oh it's a cat. Are you a security cat, or a curious wanderer, eh?" Came the gruff voice of this seemingly unconcerned criminal. The man didn't raise his wand or anything, he just went back to rummaging and ignoring the animal who found him.

"Security." Sebas said after slinking as a cat behind the man, but emerging on the other side a Human, with a wand pointed at him. "Security kind of cat."

His voice was a bit dry, as if mocking, and there was a wry grin on his face. Sebas loved surprising people as he moved from one form to another. The man this time took it much more seriously and fumbled for his wand as he took a step back, dropping the bag of goodies in surprise.

"Flipendo Maxima!" Sebas recited with the proper wand movement, his wand rejoicing in the use of the powerful knockback jinx.

While flipendo alone was popular among duelist at Hogwarts and was taught early on as a good defense spell, the maxima addition was not such a spell. This took all of the knock-you-on-your-butt energy of the original and turned it up to eleven. A wave of energy burst from Sebas' wand and sent the culprit from one end of the locker room to the wall on the other side. The hastily drawn wand of his victim went flying to one side as the man's body, followed very shortly by the back of his head, collided with the stone wall.

With this intruder disarmed and likely a bit dazed, Sebas took full advantage to continue the attack to apprehend the foe. "Vincio!" Sebas shouted in follow-up as he took a few steps closer, turning the stone wall into restraints that grabbed the man's arms, legs, and waist into locked down bindings. Now, he was trapped and immobile.

This is why they hired me. They knew I was strong enough to take down intruders, and to secure the place.

"Now, tell me what you're doing here?" He asked, keeping a short distance with his wand leveled at the man, just in case.

There was no way that the massive spell and flashes of light didn't alert the guard they had passed earlier. Though Sebas would have words with the man for not noticing the locker room had been breached. Onyx would hopefully be nearby too and come inside soon. Then Sebas felt the cat rubbing against his legs.

"I am not saying anything." The bound and dazed man said groggily.

"Okay." Sebas said without much malice or care. His job ended when the criminal was stopped and the stadium safe. "Then I can just get the Auror to handle it."

The Spaniard began to walk away, beckoning for the cat so he could go summon law enforcement for the man. On the way, he'd pick up the bag and check its contents for stolen materials. The man seemed to grumble and then asked, "How much for you to let me go?"

This made Sebas stop in his tracks and turn back to the man. An attempt to bribe the security rather than face justice? If he had enough for it to matter, he'd be buying second-hand items like this, not sloppily breaking in to steal. It also wasn't a way to win over Sebas. A bribe would never work on him, and the idea made him upset.

Punish him. The intrusive thoughts wanted him to enact pain on the restrained criminal.

"No." He said both to himself and to the man's question. "Goodnight. Somnum Adduco."

With that, the sleeping and bound man was left alone as Sebas left with Onyx to find Greg. The security guard was just walking a big circle and not checking rooms or anything. When Sebas ran into him, he crossed his arms and sighed at the man.

This is why they hired from outside, not promoting their guards... He thought loudly before informing the man of what was happening. "Home locker room. We have a break-in. Make sure he doesn't try to escape, wait there. I'll raise for an auror."

The man scuttled off to do as Sebas asked, while the Spaniard and his cat made their way to the post room to send an owl asking for an auror to come collect a suspect. An owl was waiting, and parchment was on the desk for ease of access. He wrote a short letter explaining they had a break-in and a suspect apprehended, and that an auror was requested to process them for trespassing and attempted theft. The owl would collect the rolled and sealed letter and head to the Auror office in London.

A few minutes later, a pop could be heard as an Auror appeared at the gate of the Stadium. The man seemed tired and maybe partially annoyed at being summoned so late, but he was not rude to Sebas upon entry.

"Good evening. We have an intruder bound up inside. We'd like to turn him in for trespassing and attempting theft."

The man gave a nod and followed Sebas back to the room, where Greg was waiting with a still-sleeping intruder clamped to the wall awkwardly. It was quite the scene and the Auror couldn't seem to help but ask questions.

"What did you do to him?" He asked, seeming to pull up a notepad from nowhere to record the case.

"I found him holding that bag and digging into lockers. He tried to draw his wand so I stunned him and bound him to the wall." Sebas was brief in the exact details, but that's what went down. "I called Greg here to stand guard over him while I summoned you."

Sebas didn't mention the bribe attempt or the whole ordeal. It wasn't important and even in anger, the Spaniard didn't like to add insult to injury for his foes. He wasn't sure it would even matter for a case anyway. Instead, he watched as the Auror looked through the bag, looked through the area some more, then disappeared with the groggy criminal in cuffs.

"Greg, you need to enter the rooms too. You walked right by this." Sebas lectured, with Onyx purring loudly in support. "I'll work on better counter spells for this place."

With that said and done, Sebas took Onyx back to the office to write some more notes about this new-found security flaw. He'd brainstorm and research how to stop this further and implement better security for the next ones who might try this. This new home needed protecting; and maybe it would start to feel right soon.
