First class, lonely class... or not?
It was Fern Sorrows’ first ever History of Magic class. She wanted to keep an open mind about all subjects, but she couldn’t help but think about all the stuff she’d been told about History of Magic- mainly, that it’s always boring.
Fern took her heavy History of Magic textbook out of her bag and plonked it onto the desk in front of her. Why on earth would the textbook need to be so heavy? Surely there’s not that much to learn, she mused. And besides, even if there is, there’s no way I’m going to be able to remember all this stuff! Fern was an energetic and vibrant person, but right now? All she wanted to do was sleep.
The class was about to begin, but the desk next to Fern was still empty. As the rest of her classmates filed into the class, no-one sat next to her. Surely this class won’t be so bad if someone would sit next to me. I’d be able to make a new friend- or maybe an enemy, but at least there’d be company. She was beginning to think that she'd be alone all lesson, when she saw someone coming over to her.

Quinn was late for class. She heard the bell ringing and groaned.
"this is the second time that I've been late for a class!" Quinn muttered. Hurring onto a staircase Quinn started on her way up the stairs. Suddenly there was a huge lurch and the staircase started turning.
"no, no, NO" Cried Quinn as the staircase turned from the most derect path to History of Magic to some random pathway. Quinn quickly steped off of the staircase before it moved again. Looking around Quinn stopped to stare at her sourondings and figure out the best way to get to HOM. The hallway in front of her was a light shade of brown and on either side of her were heavy oak doors that creaked if you tried to open them. Wow Quinn thought I have no idea were I am. Quinn ventured a little farther into the hallway so that she could maybe see a familiar landmark. As Quinn walked deeper into the hallway she saw lot's of different portraits looking at her with the familiar "why are you not in class?" look. A few gave her sympethetic looks but other then that... Quinn let out a shriek. I know where I am! She thought and started running toward her history of magic class. Quinn slowed as she neared her class. Deep breath in, Deep breath out Quinn pushed the door open as quietly as she could. EVERY SINGLE PERSON looked Quinns way. uh oh She thougth. Quickly sitting in the only empty seat Quinn buried her face in her book humiliated. Then she realized that the person sitting next to her must feel pretty bad too. She took a brave stab at quiet conversation.
"hi my names Quinn what about you" she wispered toward the person sitting next to her.

First class, lonely class... or not?
“Delilah, I mean, I’m Delilah, not you-”, a girl with raven black hair whispered to her, looking up to reveal an almost ethereal, exotic pair of lavender colored eyes that looked out of this world.
“That is, assuming you’re talking to me”, the girl whispered again, before pausing for a second, checking her watch and adding , “You’re exactly 3 minutes late, you know? Just one more minute and you’ll be 4 minutes late, that’s an even number. Even numbers are nice”, she mumbles, before glancing at Quinn, “Not that I’d want you to be any later, of course, no offense. ”, she said.
Truth to be told, Delilah had never really liked making new friends and often found it hard to make them. She had been sitting next to Fern for a while now, though she had never really found the courage to strike up a conversation with her. She looked up from her book, taking a look at who could potentially become her new friend.
The girl on her right was very pretty indeed, with long, lavish golden strands of hair that fell down towards her back, framing her delicate features with only a few strands falling into her face at times. For an eleven-year old, her skin was flawless, much different to Delilah’s - which always had some scratches or blotches of ink, mainly due to the fact that she still couldn’t figure out how to properly use a quill. She noticed that Fern also had a very unique eye color, much like hers, though Fern’s was hazel, captivating it’s warmth and happiness in Fern’s eyes.
The girl on her right was beautiful no less. Her light complexion serves as a canvas for her brown hair, which was adorned with subtly blended golden streaks of vivid color. Adorning her ears are earrings that compliment her style, adding a touch of personal flair. Her mesmerizing green eyes shined with a lively sparkle, drawing others in with their vibrant hues.
“I’m assuming you’re Quinn? and Fern?”, Delilah asked both of them, pointing to the names those girls had written on their notebook.

The world is quiet here, and the air is full of the delicious aroma of freshly baked bread and mischief.

"and Fern" Delilah wispered back. Quinn was a little suprised from the way that Delilah responded and was silent for a minute trying to take in all that the girl said. The first thing Quinn registered is that Delilah mentioned anouther girl, Fern. I guess Delilah wanted to talk to the both of us Quinn thought. Quinn looked at the other girl, now named Fern, and studied her. Fern had a certain elegant look about her, her soft golden hair framed her face. I wish my skin was that flawless Quinn thougth, not seeing a single bump on the girl's arm.
Quinn blushed when Fern noticed Quinn looking at her. Quickly going back to her conversation with Delilah, Quinn noticed that Delilah had striking violet eyes that looked like jewels with golden splatters. Quinn thought that the girl's black hair complemented the rest of her features.
"Hey Delilah my name is Quinn, good deduction" Quinn added the last part to be nice as she didn't want to seem like some random person who didn't have a nice bone in her body. Quinn relized that she had seen Delilah somewhere else. Quinn dissapeared into her head trying to remember when and or where she had seen the girl. The girl had been doing homework in the ravenclaw commen room one day and Quinn remembered her eyes. They were some pretty out of the ordinary eyes. Unlike the way most people would wait for someone to respond Quinn had developed a slight problem once coming to hogwarts of not waiting long enough for the person she was talking to, to respond.
"I love your eyes" Quinn whispered. That was an odd thing to say Quinn thought. Quinn quickly opened her notebook and tried to pay attention to what the teacher was saying.
