The Dance of Peace

Elegant. That's what an Alarie is supposed to be, they are elegance personified. They have multiple talents and proper grammar, and of course they will try to pass it on to their children. Cassi's mother is no different, she's passing on many of her old hobbies to Cassi. One of those hobbies were ballet, it wasn't very hard for Cassi to learn because they are already flexible but it was still difficult.
Their mother hired a professional ballet dancer named Antoinette DeLaurent to teach Cassi, she's a middle aged woman with black hair and green eyes. She is very nice but when she's teaching Cassi, she's strict and will not tolerate mistakes. Luckily she helps Cassi treat their blisters afterwards, even professional dancers don't get used to blisters despite being a ballerina for 2+ years.
Cassi is currently zoned out looking at their reflection in the mirror, how did they get here? Standing here with their hair in a frizzy but put-together bun, in tights no less. They are very nervous because they have been working on this very complicated pirouette routine, it took them a month to get a hang of it and two weeks to memorize it. So it's really all or nothing.
"Cassi, it's time." Their mother would have a fit if she knew the teacher calls them Cassi. Cassi hugs Antoinette tightly and the gesture is returned by the latter, they've gotten closer in the year they have known each other. The peace was short-lived as they'd pulled away after hearing Cassi's great grandmother complaining.
Cassi 'elegantly' glides out onto the stage and gets into their stance and with a nod of their head, the song starts, the lights dim, and the chatter stops. Cassi takes a deep breath and starts the routine, almost immediately getting into the dance, eyes closed and mind clear, momentarily forgetting about the judging eyes watching them
The peace is refreshing and precious, Cassi is savoring every minute of it with a smile on their face, soon the dance ends and the peace fades, the silence was for only a second before the applause of Cassi's family members filled the air. Their mother seems to be clapping the loudest and their great grandmother is smiling. Cassi beams and grandly bows before running towards their moms.
They did it, they really did it! They did the possible impossible, then maybe they can do anything now.
