Solitude
Glitzy was surprised she wasn't shaking like a leaf in the dead of winter as she stepped onto the
Hogwarts Express. Perhaps it was the life of concealing her emotions. She began her journey down the long hall of the locomotive. She peered through the windows of the compartments to see assorted students. There was a lanky boy with sandy hair speaking with a boy who almost looked like Glitzy's brother in one. In the next, a girl with glasses and her chestnut hair pulled up. She debated sitting with any one of them but decided to indulge in her solitary.
Once in the safety of her lonesome, she sat on the red, quilted seats of the train. She felt the
soft, yet durable fabric beneath her fingers. Her whole life she'd longed for this, really. To finally be aboard the train that would take her far beyond Hogwarts. She was never really sure of what she wanted to do with her life, but she knew she was ecstatic to learn. She was excited to be sorted, perhaps most of all. She expected Ravenclaw, of course. She was both studious and clever. She loved reading and ate knowledge up like pumpkin pasties.
She pulled her tote off her shoulder and ruffled through. At least I can get lost in this, she thought,
as she pulled out her copy of 1984. She ruffled through the dog-eared pages until she found her place and settled her back in the corner nook against the wall. As horrible as it sounded, she hoped no one came in. She hoped she could savor the few moments she had in solitude before she was living with her peers.

September 1, 2023 || Outfit || @Glitzy Morroe
Every first of September had been the same. Elouise would go with her parents to see her brothers off to Hogwarts, and she would cry desperately to go with them. She wasn't used to being told 'no', but this was the one time her parents wouldn't relent - no matter how broken her little heart was. Today there were no tears.
Elouise was no longer a child. She was almost a teenager - almost an adult. She was finally going to be where she belonged. The tales her brothers would spin painted Hogwarts into a beautiful home away from home. From the Great Hall to the Astronomy Tower, the Hufflepuff Dormitory to the Forbidden Forest, everything had been described in detail. She bid her parents goodbye, smirking as her mother wiped away tears. "It's okay, momma! I can handle it!" Elouise was feeling confident despite how her mother felt. She was going to be great.
When she finally stepped onto the Hogwarts Express, Elouise felt her first twinge of nerves roll through her body. With her brothers in their own train cars, she was alone for possibly the first time in her life. She shifted uneasily on her feet as the loud cacophony of noise assaulted her. This was different. Was she nervous? Nonsense! She was a Williams. Elouise held her breath for a few seconds before clearing her throat. She wasn't a baby anymore. She could handle this.
She stepped further into the train, narrowly avoiding two boys throwing dung bombs. Elouise found refuge in the first open compartment and slid the door closed before any dung bombs could be aimed her way. She let out a noise of frustration. "Who wants to stink on the first day of school? Disgusting!" With her face twisted in annoyance, Elouise turned to take a seat - finally noticing the girl pressed against the back corner with a book. Her eyes widened briefly before narrowing on the book cover. "What are you reading?"

"Who wants to stink on the first day of school? Disgusting!" Glitzy looked up quickly as she heard
the compartment door slide shut. Before her stood a girl surprisingly smaller than her with a mane of mousy brown hair. She turned around in a huff and quickly collected herself. Glitzy quickly looked down at her book; she didn't know if the newcomer in her compartment was a friend or foe. At least I know we share a hatred for dung bombs. "What are you reading?"
Glitzy looked up at the girl, who was now facing her. She had bushy brows to match her mane with
dark chocolatey eyes peering from underneath. Glitzy found it rather hard to read her expression. She looked nice enough, but was there a dash of mischief in her eyes? That's not a bad thing, she decided, as long as it's not used against me I suppose. "1984." She gently closed the book and glanced at the cover. I hope she doesn't go around telling everyone I have this. Glitzy and her mother had a long-going battle regarding the books she was allowed to read, and she listened to her mother, for the most part. But her brother had surprised her with it the day before she departed for Hogwarts. "Want to sit?" she asked, giving a nervous smile.@Elouise Williams
