After careful planning and consideration Cassi has finally perfected their gift for Sylvia, they enter the hall with two missions in mind. Mission: Make Sylvia Smile and Mission: Give Sylvia The Perfect Gifts.
They seen Sylvia at the house table with a vacant spot right next to her so they carefully skip over to the light-haired girl and exclaimed very loudly, "Happy Giftday Sylvia!" Plopping the presents on the table after nudging Sylvia's food out of the way.
"Here are some books on the greatest witches in history. But these gifts are the most special ones." Cassi put the books on their lap before giving Sylvia the note Mama sent along with the two carefully wrapped presents.
Cassi is unsuccessfully trying to peek at the note and failing miserably. They look at Sylvia's facial expressions to see any change to them.

Dear Sylvia Nightingale, you've certainly left quite an impression on my little star. I've never heard them say the things they said about you about anyone else before, I'd like to say thank you for whatever you've done for Cassi. With that being said accept these two garnet lockets and photo album of Cassi. Don't tell them I gave you the album, they will be very flustered especially about their child modelling pictures, most kids would be proud but not Cassi. Thank you again Sylvia.

Not long after she had sat down and chose something to eat, did Sylvia noticed a familiar figure approaching her from the left. Well, isn’t that Cass? Recalling the last words the girl had said to her inside the school library, she truly hoped that Cass has already given up the idea of buying her a handful of gifts. But it seems like she hasn’t forgotten about it at all…
Plopped down a pile of presents right in front of her, Cass explained excitedly: “Here are some books on the greatest witches in history. But these gifts are the most special ones.” Flipping briefly though the books Cass has bought her, Sylvia was surprised to find that she actually hasn’t read most of them. “These books are great! I haven’t seen most of them before.”
Taking out two carefully wrapped packages, Sylvia saw a note attached to it. While she opened it, she found Cass eager to know what’s written inside as well. Can’t believe she can manage not to read it secretly before she gave it to me. She thought, previously assuming that with Cass’s personality, she likely wouldn’t be able to resist the urge to see what her mother had written.
After she had finished reading everything, Sylvia felt completely astonished. How could any family be so friendly? Carefully taking out the two lockets, she marveled at their delicacy. Does this count as jewelry? She can’t help but wonder while inspecting them over.
Lost for words, she hesitated before saying anything to Cass: “Thank you, all this really means a lot to me.” Then she asked a question that she has been longing to know about since the first time they met, “Why are you and your mother so kind to me? We’ve only known each other for less than a week.”
Dreams make good stories. But everything important happens when we're awake.

Great success! Cassi did it, Sylvia likes the gifts. Now Sylvia wants to know how them and their mama can be so kind after one week. "Well I'm naturally kind and I want to put effort into our friendship, my mama is just happy that someone else is making me happy and that I'm not just being a homesick Hallie."
That was the half truth, mama also wants to see if Sylvia's intentions with Cassi are pure and she doesn't want to take advantage of Cassi. Cassi of course doesn't think Sylvia would ever want to take advantage of them, and possibly might be fond of them deep down.
"Anywayyyys, what did the letter say? What'd she give you? Do you like the gifts or do you love them?" Cassi wants to know many more things but those are the more pressing questions, they also want to know if their mama gave her cupcakes.
Sylvia seems genuinely surprised about their kindness and happy about the gifts, Cassi put a lot of consideration into the books. Two of the books are about 'dark' witches with shocking achievements and basically their origin stories, the rest are about magic and where it came from and the theory of Magic and different Wizarding Languages.

Hearing the girl mention homesickness, Sylvia realized that she hasn’t really felt it much during her time at Hogwarts so far. Maybe introverts are more used to not having anyone around to talk to? She thought, but then also remembered than extroverts tend to make friends within an extremely short amount of time, so they probably won’t be homesick either.
Deciding to stop her assumption of which personality type are more prone to being homesick, she turned back to Cass’s question. “Not much, you mother basically just told me what’s inside the package. There’s two garnet lockets, and…” Just as she was about to mention the album, the words on the letter came back to her, so she acted as if there’s nothing else inside except the cupcakes, “And a few blueberry cupcakes.”
Assessing the value of all these gifts, Sylvia found that Cass’s family has spent quite an amount of money on buying her gifts, an amount that she couldn’t possibly repay with her allowance. “Your gifts are great, honestly, but I can’t just take them without giving you anything back… Your mother mentioned that you like sugary foods, maybe I could buy you some in return? What’s your favorite dessert?”
