Romi smiled at Sage who was the girl panicking next to her.

First Class Of The Day
Fern was struggling a LOT with the Muggle Studies lesson. Born and raised a pureblood, her parents had encouraged her to stay away from Muggles. Despite this, she had secretly made a few muggle friends, but she had never tried to understand them. Fern also was NOT very good at focusing, even when she was desperate. So as the teacher droned through the lesson, Fern found herself doodling on a piece of paper, gazing out the window. Some time later, the bell rang and Fern looked down at the piece of parchment that she was supposed to have notes on. Oops, she thought. I sure hope someone else wrote things down.
Glancing around, she noticed the girl she was sitting next to. A Slytherin tie… this girl’s Slytherin, she noticed. Ugh, whatever. I have to give her a chance- not all Slytherins are nasty and arrogant. And besides, she looks kind.
“Hi!” Fern said. “I, um, didn’t pay much attention and I was wondering if you’d be able to, like, re-explain the whole lesson???” Fern laughed inside at her request. If she helps me, I will honestly be soooooooooo surprised.
Fern was naturally a very enthusiastic and mischievous person, but she hadn’t yet made many friends at Hogwarts, and the lack of people to talk to was getting to her. Maybe this girl will be friendly? She hoped so.
