First year at yet another new school. The process wasn't all too unfamiliar. In fact, it was anything but. He had nothing but a sickle and seven knuts to his name... yippee. He did have ten galleons, but with all the school supplies he had to purchase in Diagon Alley, he had to be careful with his spending. Thankfully, he grew up in a household that knew how to save money so he didn't blow it all in one go.

With so many cars already full, Alex decided to step into the first vacant one he could find and set his trunk atop the shelf and sat directly below it, allowing for any passer-bys to come sit with him if they so chose. It was unlikely he would strike up a conversation with whoever stepped inside the car though. He wasn't a social guy, but he certainly wouldn't be rude and ignore someone who wanted to talk to him.

Growing up in a half-blood family, he had to deal with the fact there may be some sort of blood-supremist who would bully him for his blood status. Did he care? No. Is there a possibility that he might? Definitely. But he won't cross that path until he gets there. Right now, he was focused on enjoying the quiet and looking out the window, where there were still students filing into the Hogwarts Express from all Years.

"I wonder what first year will be like." he muttered to himself, his blue eyes gazing at one person and then another.

Having zoned out after muttering to himself, Alex didn't notice another student enter his compartment until it was too late. Of course, he heard the student struggling, but he did not have the muscle nor did he have the social skills needed for such a situation. Regardless, the girl ended up not needing any help.

"Huh? N-no... but thank you for the compliment." Well, that was... interesting. He never thought he'd be called 'pretty,' but then again, there's a first time for everything, isn't there? The girl called herself Cassi, which was a rare name. To him, at least. He had never heard of someone that went by such a name.

"I'm... Alex." Well, on the positive side, he would be interacting with only one person. On the negative side... he had no idea what to talk about or even do. Cassi was clearly way more outgoing than he and shown no ounce of nervousness. "Um... are you excited for Hogwarts?" Yeesh... that's not really a great start to a conversation, is it? It's a start though, so hopefully we could have a conversation with little awkwardness. The last thing I want to be in is an awkward situation with a classmate.
