The game was over and Haley was trying hard not to show how annoyed she was in front of the team. She wasn't annoyed with the others in general. But she was annoyed that they had lost and Haley felt like she should have given more. Should have scored more. After the debriefing was over, Haley stayed in the Locker Room for a moment, trying to clear her head. The loud cheering had died down by now, the celebrating Slytherins had surely moved to the Common Room by now and were celebrating their victory. Who could blame them?

Haley sighed, got up, and put her stuff away. She took off her Quidditch uniform, slipped into her comfortable clothes, and made her way out. Her head and thoughts were everywhere and nowhere. It was that disappointing feeling after a defeat. She didn't want to keep thinking about what she could have done differently, what had gone wrong, and how she could do better next time. She would think about it, but she didn't want to do it now. And yet, her head wouldn't leave her alone. How could this even be? That she was not the master of her own thoughts? All this only drove her further into madness and she would have liked to have a punching bag now, where she could let out her frustration.

It was tearing her hair out, but Haley tried to stay calm. Today was just not her day, she just wanted her bed but at the same time she felt like she needed some time to come down. She decided to walk around the lake, take a breath and clear her head. She left the Quidditch Pitch behind and headed out. Her long red hair was blowing in a braid, sweat had long since dried on her skin and she took a deep breath of the cold air. She managed to turn her thoughts away from the game, but today was such a dreary day. She couldn't manage to think happy thoughts and so first Aiden crept into her mind, then Cosmo and finally Charles.

The thought hurt and she had to swallow. They were all people who had disappeared from her life in some way. Charles had been the last of them and she still missed him so much. She had loved him, in a friendly, brotherly way. He had been like a big brother to her and now he wasn't. She didn't even know what he was now. But she knew he was no longer in her life. He left a hole in her heart that she couldn't fill until today. She missed having the kind of friendship she had with him, and in that moment, she wished she had continued to wrap her head around the stupid game.

At that moment, Haley took a step and got caught on a root. She stumbled and did not manage to save herself. She fell forward, still propping herself up with her forearms, and landed on the floor. "Fuck." She muttered before turning around and sitting on her butt. "Argh!" she exclaimed loudly, bending her knees, resting her elbows on them, and dropping her head into her hands. This couldn't be happening.
