The Way to Hogwarts

I climbed onto the train after saying goodbye to my parents. Inside the train there were multiple compartments. Some had people in them and some were empty. It looked like most people knew each other on the train. I getting pretty uncomfortable feeling a bit left out so I slipped into an empty compartment I shut the door and the chattering outside died down. As soon as I hoisted my trunk onto the luggage rack, the train whistled and we were off. Off to Hogwarts.
Green meadows flew past us as the train sped past the English countryside. There wasn’t much to do when the train was speeding past the country. I quickly got really bored at looking at tree after tree and after tree. I didn’t really want to read a book as I had to get it from my trunk, but it wasn’t like I had much of a choice on entertainment. Putting the trunk up was not that hard but getting it down is easier said than done. I’m obviously not going to get the trunk down like getting down a feather. Let’s just get this over with. I grabbed the trunk and tried pull it down from the rack. I pulled too hard and the trunk came crashing down. I tried to cushion the fall but it didn’t work. It came down with a crash.

The Way to Hogwarts
@ Alejandro GarciaMy excitement was at its peak. One of my dreams was about to come true. I was going to Hogwarts. I was going to be normal. I was still dreading the fact that I'd managed to socialise and not be too scared of people, as usual. Although I felt like my heart was being torn apart when Arthur, who's my older brother, and my parents said goodbye to Atlantis and me, I felt that my life might finally be about to begin. Were there other people like me at school?
I was going through the train alone, with all these people around me, laughing and talking, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I had already put on my witch's dress. I wonder what the badge on my tie will be when the Sorting Hat sends me to one of the four houses. Like Atlantis, my twin sister, I was thinking of going to Slytherin. I really hoped we wouldn't be separated...
I stopped in front of an almost empty compartment, occupied by a boy who looked as young as me. Maybe he'd let me come with him... But because of my fear of the others, I was trembling, and I was probably unable to speak. So I found myself opening the compartment door and asking, after a deep breath:
-I... Can I... Come in?

I got my trunk down with great difficulty and was just flipping through and trying the find a book I had bought at Diagon Alley. I found my wand, my robes for Hogwarts and my glass phials, but no books. When I was packing for Hogwarts, I had been really dumb and packed my books first, which resulted in my books being at the bottom of my trunk. The compartment door opened as I was flipping through my trunk. I looked around the compartment. It was a mess. My robes for Hogwarts were on the floor along with some other essentials for Hogwarts.
A girl about my age opened the door. She had long slightly wavy blonde hair with brown eyes. Her hair was braided into two plaits.
”I... Can I... Come in?” she stuttered.
Is she always this nervous around people was my first thought. There was only one person in this compartment and that was me. Although it was really awkward but it was also a great opportunity to make a new friend. A friend at a new school sounded good to me.
“I don’t see why you can’t.” I replied.
“It’ll be nice to have someone to talk to.” I continued.

The Way to Hogwarts
@ Alejandro GarciaI contemplated the commotion in the compartment. Unexpectedly, he agreed to let me sit in the compartment too. So I gave him a shy but grateful smile. I immediately sat down on the bench opposite him. There was silence. I was looking for something to do, but my imagination was at its limit. The only option open to me was to talk to the boy. So I took a deep breath, to manage the stress caused by the presence of the others.
-Erm... I'm sorry about earlier... For being so shy... It's just that... I'm scared of people.
There, I've said it. I was hoping he wouldn't think I was weird. It's true, I don't usually confide in people that easily. Either this boy was special, or it was just my stress being relieved by the excitement of starting at Hogwarts. I had two goals for the school: to make friends and to do well at school. Maybe I could achieve the first now. Was I sitting opposite a future friend? I hoped so. I'd never really had a friend before and I never confided in anyone.
I took advantage of a brief moment of inattention on his part to look at him. He was dark, his eyes were brown too, and he was so... Normal. Unlike me.

I could relate to the fact that people that are bad at socializing can get very nervous when around a new environment and new people. I’ve had my fair share of new students facing similar issues at my muggle school. I had never had issues though. I’ve just seen other people have issues. It was normal. Although I had never had issues before, there’s no denying that I was feeling very nervous too.
And if not... What's your name? she continued.
“My name is Alejandro Garcia, you can just call Alejandro. Don’t worry about it. It’s normal to be a bit nervous at a place where you never been to and also know no one. By the way, I didn’t quite catch your name.” I asked.
Alright call me weird for comforting a stranger that I had only met for a few seconds but she was special, I could feel it. Hopefully at the end of the train ride I could make a new friend.
