Aries woke up startled, she checked her neon lights clock which read 2:58. She had a nightmare, one which she would never tell. She was still wearing the pale purple locket that she got for her eleventh birthday from her mother. She stared outside, as if her father was there next to the image of her mother, Saturn, that she was imagining. Their aura was glistening like the moon outside that Aries could see from out the clear girl's dormitory window. She had woke up just in time to see the rarely happening blue moon.

Her mother had mentioned, right before her departure to Hogwarts that should she ever remember Saturn, it might just be that she was hoping for a letter. This gave Aries an idea. Of course, Aries didnt have a pet yet, and definitely not an owl, since Saturn never really cared for Aries's regular life. Aries had then decided that she would pay for her own pet. Even she had a pet it would be a cat. Aries had loved cats since she was a child, and always wished she would get one. A shooting star whistled outside, and Aries remembered her plan.

The door to the common room peered open, and Aries stepped out. She couldn't remember curfew hours, but she was prepared for anything by now. She finally got out to the fifth floor corridors and took the floating stairs down, careful not to wake the Fat Lady. It was past 3 o'clock now, as far as Aries could tell so by lucks everyone was sleeping. She reached the outdoors, and took a rocky path to the Great Lake. If anything, it was infamous for Slytherin students to drown and get yeeted into the lake. Topaz had said that the other Slytherins had a weird sense of humor.

Aries brought out her piece of parchment and her quill, and her ink of course. She started slowly and elegantly writing down a letter to the mother, who was probably waiting in anticipation for Aries's response.

As she wrote, she noticed a purple flower next to her, not the purple of her locket, but darker. Like plum or violet. Violet! That's what it was called. She remembered a memory of her brother, Forrest. He used to sing her that poem "roses are red, violets are blue". He sang it everyday at night for Aries to fall asleep. She hadn't interacted much with Forrest but this was a clear moment stored in her mind. Oh how she missed Forrest. She missed his clear, deep voice. Such a natural tone.

Violets aren't blue she thought. They were purple. Many things were blue, like the lake, the sky at daylight, and tonught, the rare occasion of a blue moon. But violets were violet (purple) like her locket, her bracelet, her bed in the Gryffindor girl's dormitory. And one thing Aries remebered was Barner the purple dinosaur. She recollected the tale of Barney and a song she'd heard younger. "I hate you, you hate me, lets team up and kill Barney, with a big shotgun now he's dead on the floor, no more purple dinosaur" T'was a tragic song, but applied to people Aries knew.

Just on time, as Aries thoyght of her parents and her brother, a Snowy Owl drifted by and dropped a wax sealed envelope on the soft grass next to her. She picked it up and read carefully.

Dear Aries,

I hear your school year has been fine, and that is wonderful to hear. How are your classes going? My owl, Sephora, has reported that you've been getting things done nicely. That is also great, and of course if your grades are high that means you've also been well.

Signed, Saturn Everest Scythe

Oh of course her mother cared only about her grades and not Aries. That made much sense, she thought bitterly. She then bit her lip and started crying. She started wiping tears as she heard footsteps approaching. "Scythe?" the person asked.
