Gnome Races Viewing Areas
The gnome races were an exciting set of courses set up around Hogwarts Campgrounds and general grounds. It was a whole afternoon of races and even a fight at the end. Students could find themselves lining up along the courses to get a close view of the gnomes. There would be very sparse seating. A small bench or a big rock here and there might be possible to find, but most students would be standing. Snacks would be provided from the camp kitchens andOOC Notes:
This thread will serve as spectator for all gnome races this summer. IC, it takes about 5 or six hours for the entire event. OOC it will be many weeks.
Please specify in a quote block which race you're watching and who you interact with in viewing areas.
Try not to backdate too much and keep with the current race where possible.
All around the campgrounds would be a series of event locations students could congregate around, though none were too far apart from each other.
The speedway - A straight line with a few enhanced bricks that pop up as obstacles randomly. Think of a raceway with few curves and some moving bricks.
Bookshelf Boulevard - A series of old books and shelving will be set up to create what looks like a mini parkour challenge. Mix of obstacles and traps of all kinds.
Mousetrap Mayhem - This course focuses on traps of all kind that can end or slow down a run for each gnome. It will be a pathway through the grass with many hidden, enchanted traps. Some literal mousetraps, and some more complex magical trickery.
Mini Maze Mayhem - As it sounds, this is a cute maze made of tiny hedges. No traps here, just wit obstacles at every step. Gnomes will be lost in this maze that sometimes moves around, much like in the old Triwizard tournament.
The Thunderdome - A large metal cage. 10 gnomes enter, 1 gnome exits. Then later, 9 other gnomes exit. It sits next to the old Gnome Workshop tent. It will be empty and unused, looming ominously until the end of the event where the top 10 Gnomes will enter.
