The journey
Red woke up feeling delighted. The sun was bright, shining through the window as if saying it's going to be a good day. He had packed yesterday and the professor who had informed his parents of his magic was seeing him off. He said goodbye, turning quite emotional at the thought of not seeing his family for quite some time.
After leaving his house, the professor lead him to the train station. Red felt very confused and asked the professor, "Are we riding a train?" Then quickly lowering his voice adding, "Is this train, you know, magical?"
The professor turned, laughing at what Red thought was an excellent analogy. They declared, "No, don't be silly. We're going to be going to platform 9 and 3/4."
Red looked around and saw no Platform 9 and 3/4. "Um professor, there is no Platform 9 and 3/4." Red proclaimed confusingly.
"Why don't be ridiculous, of course there is." And with that they pointed at a family with a shopping cart running through the wall in between platforms 9 and 10. Suddenly they disappeared.
"Is that platform 9 and 3/4?" Red asked scared. This was his first real instance with the wizarding world and he wasn't taking it well.
The professor grabbed Red's shoulder, leading him over to the wall. "Yes this is the platform. Now all you have to do is run through it and you'll be on the train to Hogwarts."
Red thought about arguing, but decided against it. What's the worst thing that could happen. Red ran forward prepared for hitting a wall face first. But when he hit the wall he felt as if he was walking through a door into another room. But instead of another room, it felt like he was in another world.
Red took a minute to gather his thoughts, feeling overwhelmed by all the people. All my new classmates he thought. He waited for the professor to run through, but after waiting for several minutes he gave up.
Now boarding Hogwarts express, the speakers yelled.
The doors opened and everyone rushed to find a good spot. Red was standing there with his school supplies, quickly fixing his glasses and went towards the train, hoping that there would be a free spot open.
