Paws by the Water
Daphne strolled along the path near the campgrounds, a small tin of cat food clutched in one hand. She clicked her tongue softly, her eyes scanning the area, searching for a familiar silver figure. Alduin, her beloved cat, had a penchant for napping where there was shade, especially during the warm summer days. The pet fair was just a day away, and Daphne had been diligently trying to train Alduin to wear the dapper bow tie she had carefully selected for him. The idea of him wearing his stylish accessory had filled her with excitement, imagining the attention he would receive. But first, she needed to find him and entice him with the tempting treats. The fair would also serve as a great bonding experience for the both of them, she knew that Alduin enjoyed flaunting around and was great at it but...he did it when he felt like it.
As she approached a clearing, the grassy shoreline was a vibrant green, dotted with colorful wildflowers that swayed in harmony with the breeze. A light breeze caressed Daphne's face, offering a welcome respite from the intense heat of the summer day. Her wavy blonde hair swayed lightly with the gentle gusts, adding a touch of natural elegance to her youthful appearance. The soothing sounds of the lapping waves provided a calming backdrop to her search.

Oh, how unbearable were these summer days, Alex tiredly mused. Yes, the camp was enjoyable enough, but according to Alexander's theory, its joy would have been maximised unless it was a 'summer' camp. "I really have no clue why people adore this terrible season," he grumpily reckoned, "even God designed hell as a hot place - it says something, huh?" And to cool off a little and spend some time with her furry friend during her rare waking hours, Alex decided to wander around the campgrounds.
"Come, Helga," he said to the playful ferret as he started to walk. Having sensed being completely surrounded by the beauty of nature, Alex's grumpiness quickly dwindled and he felt grateful as it was rather a slow, regenerating, and refreshing walk. His blond hair, down to his shoulders, swayed lightly in the enlivening breeze of the sweet summer wind. All the necessary conditions for Helga's happiness and satisfactoriness were also present - she was outdoors, satiated, and with Alex. Having witnessed her sincere happiness, Alex couldn't help but exclaim"Oh, you little charmer" as he leaned to the ferret to caress his piebald head with gentle moves.
However, as soon as Alexander squinted his light green eyes, bothered by the bright sun, he quickly realised that he and Helga were not the only ones around. Just like them, a human and a pet were enjoying themselves. What Alex initially saw was a girl with her cat. The girl, at least from this distance, seemed like a nice person to Alex's eyes, and the cat, like almost every member of its kind, was pretty adorable. He decided to greet them, even though he had not planned to socialise further for the remainder of the day. But considering the possibility of Helga feeling lonely, Alex quickly altered his own plans. "How touchingly selfless I am," he ridiculed himself.
Clutching Helga to his bosom, Alex approached the girl slowly. He cleared his throat slightly to let her know of his existence, "If I may impose..." said gently. "Aww, your cat is adorable! Look, Helga..." He showed the cat to his ferret. Offering his hand to the girl, "by the way, Alex." he said.

"O-Oh!" A soft shriek escaped from Daphne due to not seeing the blonde boy at first. After a moment, a warm and friendly smile formed on her lips, her eyes lighting up with recognition, happy to see a familiar face. Meanwhile, Alduin appeared unfazed by the encounter, confidently strutting past Daphne with a self-assured meow, heading straight to Alex's feet. "Oh, don't mind him," she chuckled, finding amusement in her cat's nonchalant behavior. "Alduin just does whatever he wants most of the time." Extending her hand and shaking his, Daphne introduced herself with a cheerful tone, "I'm Daphne Sapphirus. It's really nice to meet you, Alex. I do believe I saw you at the Sorting Ceremony last year, and if I'm not mistaken, you're a fellow Hufflepuff, right?"
Her attention then shifted to the adorable little ferret in Alex's company, and her eyes sparkled with genuine delight. "Oh my gooosh, your ferret is just precious! What's her name?" Daphne's curiosity shone through, showing her fondness for animals and her eagerness to learn more about each furry friend she encountered. With a tilt of her head, she awaited Alex's response, eager to hear more about his furry companion. If they could have more than one pet at Hogwarts, she'd certaintly get a ferret.
