A Summer Tail
Daphne anxiously stepped out of her cabin, her eyes scanning the surroundings with concern. As always, Alduin had managed to slip out of her room and wander off. Even though the cabins were outside unlike the dorms at Hogwarts, he was still not content and wished to roam around. Spotting him right outside, relief washed over her, only to be replaced by frustration as he darted away as soon as she reached for him.
"Alduin, come here...please!" Daphne called out, her voice tinged with a mixture of exasperation and affection. Despite being an adolescent cat now, Alduin retained the same feisty and mischievous nature he had as a kitten. She let out a heavy sigh, her shoulders slumping momentarily. It seemed like a never-ending game, with Alduin always evading her grasp. Determined not to let him get too far this time, she followed his swift movements, her footsteps quick but cautious.
To her surprise, Alduin abruptly paused at the back of the cabin, his tail flicking from side to side in a swift motion. He bowed down, assuming a stalking position, his gaze focused on something ahead. Daphne couldn't help but feel intrigued and a tad confused. Perhaps he had caught sight of a bird, igniting his feline instincts. Daphne cautiously approached, her eyes scanning the area, searching for the object of Alduin's fascination. She expected to see a fluttering bird or some other creature that had captured his attention. Yet, as she reached the spot where Alduin had stopped, there was no immediate indication of what had captivated him.
Her brows furrowed in bewilderment. Had he spotted something in the distance? Or was it simply a figment of his playful imagination? Daphne couldn't help but wonder what lay beyond her limited perception.

The atmosphere in the Occamy Cabin was very tense, making Zach feel uncomfortable. He wondered how people who were just met and didn't know each other well could exchange such glances at their first meeting. Zach couldn't help but decide to leave the cabin with his pet owl, Zephyr, and let it sunbathing outside.
When Zach came out from the cabin with Zephyr in its cage, he actually was unsure of where to go. He decided to roam around the cabin in search of a suitable place to sunbathe and relax while enjoying the camp's scenery, and he found it behind the cabin. Eventually, he discovered a spot behind the cabin. Beneath a shady tree, he hung Zephyr's cage on one of its branches. Wearing protective gloves, he opened the cage and gently removed Zephyr. The owl sat serenely on top of its cage.
Everything was safe and peaceful until Zephyr's round eyes looked in one direction. "What's up?" Zach asked his ghost bird. He tried to follow Zephyr's gaze and found a gray-feathered chunk not far from where they were relaxing. "Is that a cat?" he thought. Zach kept an eye on Zephyr, preventing him from flying towards the cat and hurting him. He really didn't want to get into any trouble on his summer vacation. Zach saw a girl watching the cat from behind. "Excuse me, is that your cat?" Zach asked. Meanwhile, Zephyr still didn't take his eyes off the gray-feathered chunk.

Alduin suddenly filled the air with loud meows, swiftly running over to the location of the boy and the owl. The young cat didn't show any signs of aggression; instead, he seemed determined to catch the owl's attention, yowling in a playful attempt to engage with the bird. He would stand in place and flick his tail side to side, demanding Zephyr's attention. Daphne, now seeing the two, hurriedly made her way over to the scene. She bent down to pick up Alduin and held him close to her chest, the cat squirming around in defiance.
"I'm so so soooo sorry," Daphne exclaimed apologetically to the boy, her eyes filled with genuine remorse. "Alduin is just a curious little troublemaker; he didn't mean any harm." She spoke with a mix of fondness and exasperation, knowing well the antics of her feline friend. Her fingers ran along the cat's silver fur while she looked at Zach and Zephyr with interest. "Your owl is amazing by the way," she said with awe, her voice tinged with admiration. "What breed is she or he? I've only ever met snowy owls before." She gave him a bashful smile, hoping that there was no hard feelings between them.

Zach quickly put on his protective gloves again as he saw the cat walking towards them. He was just very scared that his owl hurt the cat. A loud gasp could be heard from his mouth just after the cat was already under the cage and yowling. No aggression could be seen from the cat and the owl. Zephyr was just staring at the cat from the top of the cage with his round eye. He was also hooting and tilting his head. Like gulping a water drop in the desert, Zach was relieved after seeing no cat nor owl hurt or attacking each other. It was the first time Zach looked at his owl interacting with other pet.
A blonde girl that was behind the cat before approached them and picked the chunky creature. She was apologizing and said that her cat (that name later Zach heard as Alduin) was a little troublemaker and didn't mean any harm. "No, you don't have to apologize. This cute fluff didn't make any trouble," he said with a smile on his face. The thing is, he was more scared of Zephyr hurting the cat. Fortunately, that didn't happen.
"Thanks! He is a barred owl. I met him in Magical Menagerie when I was shopping for school supplies and named him Zephyr," Zach answered the girl. He looked at the girl and was sure that she was also in the same year as him. "I believe we are in the same year. I am Zach from Ravenclaw," he said. His eyes fell on the cat again. His fur seemed so fluffy that his hand also wanted to pet him. Zach walked closer to the cat and said "Hello! So your name is Alduin," with soft eyes. Then he looked at the girl and said, "Alduin looks very fluffy. Uh... Can I pet him?" he asked the girl.
