@Cicely Woods & @Pyxis Hellebore ★ 9/1/23 ★ Leaving home was not exactly the nicest feeling for Olive. Even tho at first, she felt quite excited and anxious to just get out of there and stop being reminded of the happenings of the past few years, she still loved her family, and having to see their faces for the last time hurt quite a lot for the new Hogwarts student. Tears were shed, and hugs, gifts, and blessings were exchanged until Olive was ready to get in the express and saw their faces for the last time in what was going to be months.
Olive tried to find an empty train compartment among the hundreds of Hogwarts students inside the school express vehicle. It was uncomfortable, having to squish with all her luggage through the tiny corridors in which the crowd was situated. Why could they not just sit in their assigned areas for god's sake? Olive was not usually this irritated, but the fact that this was probably one of the saddest days of her year did not help keep her spirits up. She continued squishing amongst the screaming crowd, trying not to let their screams and laughs bother her extremely at that moment.
Once she found a compartment where she could be by herself, she sighed and let her trunk lay in the superior part of the train seats. She took out her Japanese book 'Before the coffee gets cold', took out her glasses, and read by herself, trying to escape the reality around her. If she had been on a Muggle train, her option would have been to take out her headphones and vibe to cancel the noise, however, her mother had warned her to not take any electronic devices to magical places beforehand, much to Olive's dismay.
Since Olive still felt stressed, she took out a mirror from inside her bag which she always had on her to check and see whether some part of her face had morphed differently due to her strong emotions. Usually, when she was stressed or angry (under pressure overall), the irises of her eyes would turn a bright shade of red in response, leaving her without much choice but to admit that she was feeling uncomfortable.

September 1st, 2023@Olive Campbell @Cicely WoodsHis send-off to magic school was nothing like Pyxis expected. At summer camp, he’d been told that his journey in September would take the form of a train ride, but the imaginative child refused to believe something as mundane as that was going to be his last hurrah in the normal world. Where was the floating luggage? The whimsical patrons? The train with wings? And most importantly, where was the organization? After running through the barrier with his bewildered parents, which was the most magical part of the whole operation, the trio found themselves muscling past eager children, emotional guardians, and escapee familiars.
These muggles hadn’t seen anything like the bustle of the platform, and Pyxis was rather put off by the goodbye he received because of it. Arriving late had allowed his parents zero space to give grand speeches or to remind him of whom he represented. He just accepted their simple hugs and words and boarded the train without a second thought. However, the boy supposed this was the best way things could have gone. He was obviously excited for this new chapter of life, but if he had the chance to cling to his wailing mother who clearly didn’t want him to leave, he knew he would have chickened out and begged them to take him home. Instead, they stood on the platform some ways back in the crowd, watching their son pass through the train with polite smiles. Waving back at them, Pyxis wondered if his mother would even cry at all, if she had the chance.
The interior of the train was no better than the platform as students crowded the narrow walk space, loitering with friends or peeking into compartments to determine the space situation. He was glad that his parents took his words to heart and bought him a trunk on wheels because there was no way he could drag a piece of luggage down this packed tube. He decided to bypass the crowds at the entrance and make his way further down the train where it was much quieter. Unfortunately, most of the compartments had already been claimed by at least one person, and as he observed through the clear windows of the compartment doors, he couldn’t tell which ones were waiting for their friends or which ones were on their lonesome.
Burying the side of him that dreaded these types of situations, the boy chose one at random and poked his head in. He noted a girl around his age who’s face was marred with stress as she fiddled with a mirror.
“Morning! Are you waiting for someone or is there space for me here?” Pyxis asked the compartment’s lone inhabitant.
