Private to Sixth Year and Seventh Years
This thread is open to both PCs and iNPCs
Years are by Hogwarts standard (so characters should be 16+)
7th July 2023
Serena did not entirely know what spurred this act on but she was done with constantly looking over her shoulder, wondering if so and so was a friend or if people were judging her. She just wanted to live her life, with her friends and have a great time. All of the meanies could - quite frankly - piss off. Not that she had many close friends but hopefully, with a bit of effort, she could make some more before she left the school and ended up as an adult out there in the big wide world. How did adults even make friends?! Surely they didn't...
As such, a handful of the older students would find a letter outside their cabin doors, inviting them to join in a small little event that was taking place in the Campgrounds. Just a small gathering that Serena had sent to a few of her closest friends and a few people who seemed pleasant enough that they could become friends. She did not expect it to be more than like three people, if that.
The letter had a quick hand-drawn sketch and an "X" on it where there seemed to be a relatively quieter spot. They were not about to break rules - at least, that was not her intent. She could not guarantee the same for others. However, she figured a quiet area might be nice so they could hang out and not be interrupted by children. This gathering was not meant to be big or anything drastic, but you know how rumours work. Things spread and more students started to get the memo. People Serena did not intend to invite heard about it and the word quickly spread and before long, most of the seventh years and sixth years had been invited.Hey friend,
Let's celebrate our last summer camp in style! Meet at the 'X' on the hopefully decent drawn sketch below after dinner on Friday and let's hang out! Feel free to bring others, of course.
S xoxo
Serena had moved a little of the furniture that she had borrowed from other parts of the campgrounds here. There was a few picnic blankets around, some pillows and such that people could sit on. On a small table, she had also added an enchanted radio that was playing. It was a little louder than she had set it at but it clearly someone had increased the volume already. For now, there was a random song that was not actually in English. It was a Hindi song that just repeated the same word over again, which was slang for dancing crazily and to "go crazy with joy". Anyone was welcome to change the station.
Hanging from the trees were various decorations, such as makeshift disco balls (which were pieces of mirror shards) and a bunch of sequins and glittery decor around to reflect the light a little. Someone - not naming any names - had brought a few butterbeers that seemed to be in a corner somewhere. There was also a few enchanted roses that changed colour based on the mood of the wizard or witch whose blood was in it. Right now they were yellow. To add to the decoration, there were some vases of flowers that had recently been picked that were just flowers found around the campgrounds. Dotted around were also a few enchanted golden balloons that she had managed to source that were held down by some stones. They would float into the sky before long, popping and release a random decorative element for a few hours.
In one corner, there were a few games set up - a pack of exploding snap, some gobstones and the ever-bashing boomerang - sat there in case anyone felt like playing with any of them. There was also a wizard camera on the table so people could take some magical selfies! Or actual photos of things around if they wanted. The photos would be developed later. A few people who had shown up had decided to play some games too - like Truth or Dare. We'll see where this goes.
Guidelines:
- Not going to be super strict with moderation. If you want to cast spells / roll for something yourself, please do. Otherwise, I'll write up a mod post every week (or as and when necessary).
- If you want to play Truth or Dare, please put an "ACTION" at the end of your post specifying if you picked truth or dare and I'll roll for it.
- Have fun! Might open up this thread to more students after but wanted to limit it to avoid getting too many for now.

Word on the street was there was a party nearby on the campgrounds. Never did Bloom receive an invitation from Serena to go, but she heard that Howard was invited and wanted to be there with him. Knowing him, he would want her to go with anyways.
Bloom did arrive early, dressed in a tank top and denim shorts. When she got there, she saw a very relaxed set up. There with her was the host of the party, Serena. There seemed to be no one else around. It was just the both of them. That was what she got for coming on time to the party. Bloom did have some anger bottled up inside about how they ended, but seeing as it was their last year together at Hogwarts, was the fight really still worth it?
Their falling out was truly Bloom's fault. She knew how much Serena liked Howard, and Serena had told her that. Bloom kept her feelings for Howard hidden from Serena. She did not want to share with her that she, too, was into the same boy. And then it was the spring ball in their fifth year. Bloom opened up to Howard and long and behold, they've been together ever since. But of course, how that would feel from Serena's perspective.
Bloom took a deep breath and crossed an arm over her torso to hold her elbow. "Hey...," she shyly said, slowly walking up towards Serena and looking around the area some more. "The place looks beautiful," she said, taking in the sequins and colors. Perhaps a good way to a connection was to compliment someone in their hard work. Though, there was still that tension. Should she just come out with it? Bloom cleared her throat. Probably best to lay everything out without witnesses to know that there was a falling out and spreading of rumors.
"Serena...," Bloom started, "I'm really sorry about everything that happened between us. You were really a good friend and I was a classic bitch," she said, hoping that Serena would hear her out.

"No, I won't play your stupid game, Ser."Interactions: First Serena then anyone who's willing
The giant's hand waved Serena's question out of the way. As if it was polluting the air he was breathing. And by the grimace on his face, you would believe she did just gas in his face, if that had been anatomically possible at all. Still, he was not about to participate in the little game she had prepared. The first macho boy to enter this space was going to challenge him to something stupid like an arm wrestle, or worse, a fight. Or maybe they'd want to test just how much his skin could take. 'Haha yes, let's throw rocks at the giant, he won't feel it, right?'
He actively tried not to think of the truth part, either. Hugh was not willing to be everyone's personal encyclopedia on all things 'giant'. The giant preferred to keep too nosy people at an arm's length. His arm, not Serena's. Just to be clear here.
Hugh adjusted his sunglasses and straightened his corduroy jacket, before he walked off in search of both something to drink and something to lean against. Maybe the majority of the party would mistake him for just another tree. An admittedly well-dressed tree, if he said so himself. He worked on the jacket all by himself, though only Serena might have caught him in the act of sowing and stitching before. And he was not ready to talk about that even to her.
As the giant wandered off, he figured the place could use something close to a 'bar'. Spending the next several minutes grabbing a handful of barrels, he was able to construct something that resembled a giant table. With that settled, he lifted the one barrel that contained pumpkin juice and smashed a small tap into it. Now he had made his base for the evening. He was curious to see which of these people was going to be brave enough to come disturb his peace for a drink.

Plot Hook ─ Serena has been hiding her pointy ears for years hats, headbands and hair in an effort to keep her goblin heritage a secret. Her family is known to be a Pureblood family. From 1st July 2023, she openly wears copper earpieces (drawn by me) over her ears to draw attention to them. Her goblin-ness may be a surprise to some people.
Interacting with @Hugh Lowe before he leaves and @Bloom Silverton
The incoming seventh year Hufflepuff was doing her best to just make the most of things. It had been a week since she came out as a 'goblin' more openly - though it did seem like several people already knew, which was really nice to know. That they knew and did not care. She was not sure why she was surprised - Hugh, Howard and Dealla had accepted her instantly when they had found out. Perhaps her fear about the whole thing was more related to one specific person - and how that would impact the rest of her family. Luckily for her, it did not seem like he was around today. Good, with any luck, this would just be a fun party and he would find out that he missed out another day.
Serena looked around at the small gathering that had... well, become a little bigger than she had expected. She was not entirely sure what she expected but she was there, hanging out with her best friend and trying to stay out of the way for the most part. How this blew up, she had no idea. The intention had been to invite a small handful of people but it looked like it had exploded a bit and some people had brought their own things to the party too.
Her eyes fell onto her bestest friend - Pizza - who was running around in the grass not too far away from her. He seemed to be having fun so she left him to it.
She donned a short lilac coloured dress and a pair of white sunglasses sat on her head in case the sun decided to blare in her face again. Her hair was loose but she was donning the newest addition to her armour - which was a pair of winged ear cuffs that fluttered around her ears. She had even bothered to wear make up for once! That's right - make up!! Serena was not one to wear make up often but she figured it would boost her confidence for the evening - in case she ran into anyone she did not want to run into. For the first time in forever, she had actually made an effort to look as cute as possible with the hope that it would help her overcome the fear that was inside of her, arm her with confidence. Make up was her war paint.
"Wh- I can't play it by myself! And you already said no to dancing with me!" Serena pouted as she pointed to her black heels, which were definitely dancing heels because she was definitely ready to dance. "C'moooon," She started to whine, trying to get him to have some fun and loosen up a little - mostly since she did not want to do it herself.
However, before she could continue, she caught a glimpse of someone she knew well walking up towards her. Resisting the urge to roll her eyes, she turned back to Hugh but he had already left. Dammit- She was going to kill him!
Serena shrugged at her compliment about the area. It was not like she owned the campgrounds nor she did she make it beautiful for Bloom. Why was she even here? Ugh. What surprised her was the words that came out of Bloom's mouth. She raised an eyebrow in suspicion, not trusting it. What did she want? She did not disagree though. Bloom was a classic bitch. "Yeah, well I know that but why exactly do you think that?" She asked, wondering what Bloom wanted.

Perhaps Bloom's chocolate eyes were lying to her. She looked around the place again and saw that there were people around, but just blending in with the scenery, sitting down and enjoying themselves. Perhaps now was not a good time to really pour her feelings about their situation, but in a way it felt like it was now or never. Bloom really missed Serena as a friend.
However, it stung Bloom the wrong way when Serena had asked her why she thought she was a classic grade O bitch. She looked down and took a deep breath. Her apologizing was not a means of looking for anything. It was just to fix what was broken. Bloom took a piece of her hair and played with it, her heart pounding to tell the truth. "I lied to you. I said that I liked Arjan, but really it had always been Howard. And well, after you shared how much you liked Howard, I couldn't bare to tell you. And for me to jump in like that...," she mumbled at the end, thinking about the Spring Ball of their fifth year. "I'm sorry," she said, all in one breath.
Now thinking about it, there was something that Bloom wanted, and that was forgiveness and friendship. They met each other in a girls bathroom so many years ago. And now, their growing friendship had disappeared. She hoped that after this conversation both were accomplished and things wouldn't be back to normal, but growing once more.

𝒲hen Amadea had heard that Serena was organizing an event for the older students at summer camp, she had immediately marked it on her mental calendar. Of course, she was mainly there because she wanted to support Serena in her endeavors but she also was excited to be socializing with students who were around her age. As much as Amadea loved summer camp, it was definitely weird to be bunking with a bunch of students much younger than herself. She was glad that she had a few other students around her age, but none of them were close friends and Amadea was finding she was missing out on the companionship. That was why she had been ecstatic to hear about Serena's get together.
As Amadea approached the area designated distinctly on her invitation with a large X, she broke out into a smile. Serena had outdone herself! The entire area was decorated from head to toe with disco balls, enchanted flowers, and more. There were even piles of games laid out; Serena had really pulled out all of the stops for this. Amadea's first instinct was to immediately go over and congratulate the girl on a job well done, and ask what the plan for the rest of the night was, but as she looked over to spot the brunette, Amadea noticed her deep in conversation with another girl. Amadea recognized her as Bloom Silverton, another fellow seventh year, but one that she had not often interacted with. Whatever the two were talking about, it looked pretty serious, and Amadea did not want to interrupt anything. She settled for giving a brief wave in Serena's direction, not worrying if the girl did not see or respond and turned her attention toward the only other student who had arrived.
He was busy setting up a makeshift tap for the pumpkin juice, standing menacingly beside it as he maneuvered the barrels into a table-like structure. Amadea hesitated; his demeanor was not radiating come talk to me, but what else was she to do besides stand here awkwardly? Bloom and Serena were occupied and she was determined not to make a fool of herself standing in the center of the set-up doing absolutely nothing. Taking a deep breath, she tucked her stray hair behind her ear before walking as confidently as she could in the direction of the tall boy. At the very least she could use some pumpkin juice. "Erm, hello there," she said, wincing at her lack of eloquence. "Would you mind if I grabbed some pumpkin juice?" She looked around for a cup to fill, grabbing one and hesitating before reaching forward. "I'm Amadea, by the way," she added as an afterthought. "Amadea. Campbell. Hufflepuff." God, if she had known her social abilities were manifesting themself in one-word sentences, she would have never dared come over here at all. When was this game going to start? As much as Amadea disliked truth or dare and the nerves it caused, nothing could compare to the mounting anxiety she felt during small talk.

"DARE!" Galton had to enter with a bang. He'd heard some people playing, and what better way was there to get a summer night started? His only hope would be that others would join in on the slightly risky game. It came as a bit of a surprise though. From the invitation he'd gotten he had expected something a little more laid back. But why opt for something so chill? He was looking good and feeling even better, there was no time to waste.
Summertime called for some alteration's to Galton's typical wardrobe. In practicality there was only one thing that would change, but as Galton's outfits only ever consisted of two real components: Robe and wizard crocs, it was rather noticeable. His typical robes would be changed out for a shorter variant, made with much more breathable material. There was no need to stay cozy this time of year. Anyone looking at Galton however would see something more akin to a tunic than a robe. The hem had been taken up to his mid thigh, and the sleeves had been cut short. Partnered with the holes in his wizard crocs, the outfit was optimized to allow for peak airflow. The only accessory he had today was his Enchanted Satchel slung around his torso. He felt like the candy king of the world as he walked into the party site.
"Don't worry! I've arrived!" There was no need for subtly at such an event, and Galton wanted to make sure everyone knew he was here. The fact of his attendance would, of course, kick things up a notch. Not only because of his (totally not self-imagined) school fame, but also because he'd brought the missing ingredient to this party. Candy. He eyed up a place to dump the goods. Two main groups seemed to have formed. Serena and Bloom, and Hugh and an older girl. As Hugh had a bar set-up, that seemed to be the perfect place to dump the sugar. Before heading over he would shout towards Bloom and Serena "HELLO!".
Arriving at the makeshift bar Galton would pull off his satchel and drop it to the ground. "Galton." He would say with a smile towards Amadea (and Hugh, just in case he had forgotten somehow). There was no time to waste, these party-goers looked severely sugar deprived. Crouching down, he would flip open the top of his bag and stick a hand deep inside. After a second or two he would fish out a handful of sherbet lemons and place them atop the bar. It wouldn't stop there though. A few more trips into the pocket space would yield piles of sticky caramel, licorice wands, pepper imps, some cupcakes and a pile of lollipops. "Help yourselves!" He would say before going back in.
The final touch to the bar would obviously be some extra drinks. Pumpkin juice was fine, but it lacked the right amount of sweetness that Galton was looking for. Making sure to take extra care he would lift a large covered pitcher to the table. It was filled with an ombré liquid that went from yellow to pink. They'd called it a "Tahitian Sunset" when he'd bought it. He would lift the lid and pour a portion into a glass. He'd plop a few ice cubes into the glass as well. It had been inside his satchel for a bit of time, so it was probably not the coldest drink at the moment.
Taking a sip he'd let out a long sigh. It hit the spot. The coconut and lemon flavors swirled on his tongue as the hint of raspberry entered to kick things up a notch. It was such a complex sweet flavor Galton was confused why he'd not had such a thing sooner. You'd think with his sweet tooth he would have found this years ago. "You guys gotta try this." Even though the drink was chilled, it gave him a slightly warming feeling as he swallowed. Odd... but enjoyable!
OOC Note: The pitcher he put out has alcohol in it. Galton does not know this.

Hugh's big bucket of brains jumped up as the voice cut through. There stood a girl, older, he presumed. Given he knew all the faces of his own year, there was little left to conclude on that part. Though, he desperately tried to search the deepest crevices of his memory if he had or had not met her before. If they did, his memory would fail him this time. Which left him open for a new analysis. His eyes would look her up and down and finally stop at the sight of the cup. As the rest of his face remained stuck in grouchy-mode, his left eyebrow slowly arched up from under his sunglasses.Interactions: @Amadea Campbell and @Galton Lansdale
"Hugh." The giant replied with a clear hint of Scottish, as the corner of his mouth followed the eyebrow's example. Slowly, his large hand would appear from under the table. A long arm would cross the table tree branch, descending under the weight of rain. Instead of reaching for Amadea's cup, however, he reached sideways to the barrel with the tap. He softly placed it down, closer to her position and more readily available to whomever felt like they needed something to battle the thirst. "All yours." He said, this time with a friendly smile. "Hugh Lowe, by the way. Gryffindor." He clarified to repay her information in kind.
Just when he was about to open up more, with his mouth half open and a word partly uttered, Amadea would be able to notice his face instantly falling back into the wooden statue it had been moments before. Galton had arrived. And where Lansdale's crocs tapped the floor, Lowe's sighs sizzled through the air. "You best prepare yourself." There was no need for explaining why, he felt. It was obvious by the shouting of one particular person had just arrived and decided it was (once again) their time to shine.
"Evening Galton..." Hugh added dryly, with a clear hint of 'warning shot' behind his words. The giant silently watched as his croc-fitted, robed... friend started unpacking his little rucksack for dinner. Hugh's eyes lit up curiously as Galton revealed his special surprise for the bar area. With a delicate hand, he accepted one of Galton's glasses and sniffed around the rim of it. After one sip, and faint grimace, his predictions proved true. "Of course you'd be the one to bring THIS to the party." The giant would comment, first sternly, then smiling, until eventually he allowed himself a short and heavy "HA!" in amusement.
He tried to make eye-contact with Amadea and silently mouth the word 'alcohol' to her as he pointed down towards his drink. She could partake or not, that was her choice. But at least she would be warned. Hugh's eyes eventually drifted back off to the newest arrival, though. His eyes would dart between his own glass and Galton's. Was... was he even aware?

Summer Camp.
July 2023.
Cyrus had found a note outside of his cabin detailing a little map with an X on it, and although he didn't necessarily know any older years, he thought there was no better way to make friends than to hang out with strangers. Making new friends was like finding treasure, anyway, so he imagined following the map was not unlike a pirate's treasure hunt: X marked the spot, after all.
He made sure he looked impeccable. His hair was combed even though it would not lie flat, and he wore a Donald Duck crop top and cargo shorts. He stuck a can of bug spray in one of his pockets, knowing that although it was a magical school, he had always been a mosquito magnet back in the States, and he didn't quite think it would be different here in the UK. Besides, he might be able to introduce magical folk to the likes of Bug Spray! It smelled wonderful.
Cyrus sprayed a bit on his exposed arms and legs before pulling on his shoes and leaving the Phoenix Cabin. Oh, how he loved his cabin. It reminded him of his aunt's vacation home in Lake Placid, and even though it was only the 7th, he was sure he wouldn't want to leave when the time came.
During the journey to the treasure spot, Cyrus puzzled over who 'S' was. He didn't know anyone whose name started with S, at least not off the top of his head. But he had never had the greatest memory.
Or ─ and this, actually, scared him quite a bit ─ there was always the possibility that the note hadn't been meant for him. After all, there were plenty of other kids in the Phoenix Cabin. Who was to say Cyrus was important enough to snag a potential friend's attention?
But Cyrus had always prided himself on being attention-grabbing. He was a bit obnoxious, sometimes, although he now liked to think he had grown out of that. He was silly and kind, and he had a delightful sense of humour. Perhaps the 'S' person had actually noticed him and thought he was friendly! That was what he hoped.
He arrived at the spot and smiled at the decorations. The glitter and yellow roses were nice touches. He would have to find whoever organised this party and thank them personally ─ if they were willing to talk to him.
Cyrus noticed a few people crowding around what looked like a bar, and although the staunchly American part of him was appalled, his aunt was Irish. He had a small internal argument, and eventually he decided he would just see what was going on and maybe talk to the people there.

== Writing as approved Durmstrang iNPC Vyacheslav Aleksandrovich PreobrazhenskyWhile it wasn’t sunny or particularly warm, Slava was delighted about the day. It was the first Friday since they had arrived at summer camp, and he was certainly settling in well so far. There were no official activities planned for today, but he had heard about a party that was happening instead in a more secluded area of the campgrounds. Naturally, any opportunity to make friends and have fun was something that Slava jumped at, so he had put slightly more effort into his outfit and headed out to the aforementioned destination, armed with a cake he had been sent after he heard about the event.
Slava’s eyes lit up as he approached the party—it looked fantastic. Pillows and picnic blankets formed seating areas, yellow flowers complemented the glittery, shiny decorations and golden balloons, and there was an area for games and photography. The bright, golden, glittery style fit very well with Slava’s own decorative taste and preferences, and it only served to increase his energy level further. Music played in a language he was unfamiliar with, but it sounded nice nevertheless. Yes, it was a rather brilliant-looking setup, and he was surprised to see several vaguely familiar faces, since he only knew so many students outside his school. He walked over with a wide smile on his face. “Hello! Who made this party? It’s very pretty. Also, I brought cake!” he announced loudly, wanting to find the organizer of this event so that he could personally congratulate them on making this happen with such excellent execution.
Glancing around the area, he puzzled over who to interact with first. If Serena looked his way, he would wave cheerfully, recognizing her from the cabin. He then proceeded to the makeshift bar area, which was where four students stood talking. There was the tall guy from his cabin—Hugh*—and a boy he didn’t know (Galton), who seemed energetic and loud. Luckily, these were traits Slava found compelling—a potential friend who could match his own energy and attitude was always great to be around. Next, there was a girl he had to look at carefully as he tried to place how he knew her. A slow grin formed as it clicked—she had been a victim of a very cherished prank of his, which had been accomplished alongside a very cherished friend of his. And finally, there was Cyrus, a boy he had met just three days ago but had already taken a strong liking to based on their first impressions.
“Heyyyyy everyone! For those of you who don’t know or forgot, I am Slava of Durmstrang.” He grinned, an extra wide smile shot at Cyrus for acknowledgement of his presence. Slava then leaned over to whisper conspiratorially to Amadea. “Do you remember hot sauce-filled donuts at the London Quidditch Stadium a few years back? Yeah, sorry about that. I won’t poison your food like that this time, don’t worry.” After grinning cheekily at her, he straightened up, placing the cake (and its stand) down on the makeshift bar next to the sweets, which were quickly stealing his attention. “Ooh, don’t mind if I do.” He took a caramel, popping it into his mouth with an expression of delight.
It was at this point that he noticed Galton’s drink, peering at it curiously. “The drink is very pretty colors,” he noted, and then eagerly poured himself a cup. He was unaware that the beverage was alcoholic—he was just interested in the way it looked. Nevertheless, he took a sip and was not disappointed, the sweet, fruity flavor very much to his liking. He paused, glancing between the members of this little group. “So, did I hear someone talk about dares? Count me in.” Dares were something Slava greatly enjoyed, his impulsive and carefree nature making his personality all too suited to them. He loved the adrenaline rush dares provided as well as the social aspect of them, and he wasn’t afraid to push himself or act without hesitation to do things that might make someone in his place feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. It didn’t bother him. He just had no shame, his overconfidence and ability to let things slide allowing embarrassment to just roll right off him instead of finding its place in his head. He hoped the others were somewhat like that too.

* This is assuming Hugh would’ve given his name by now even though it hasn’t been stated in the cabin thread quite yet. If he wouldn’t have or if this is a problem for any reason, please let me know.
Edit: Forgot to note the action of Dare
