The trip from the library was about as uneventful as trips go. The Dining hall wasn't as full as he anticipated it would be, many students still remained but the majority of them had, by this point, left and returned to their houses. He made his way over to the Ravenclaw table and sat away from the other students, he began helping himself to the food that was within arms reach, filling his plate. He didn't notice how hungry he really was until he'd begun to eat, all that time in the library really must have taken something out of him. More to the point, he didn't know the time, or how long he had been there. Victor originally suspected he was only there for an hour, but given that dinner was almost over, it may have been closer to three hours. A sense of bewilderment came over him, An hour to read only a chapter? he thought to himself rather glumly. Surely he was faster than that? No matter, it was something he could work on he supposed, practice makes perfect.

He nibbled on a carrot, curious as to why the paintings moved and if they were real people or just moving without personality. They looked as though they were talking to other paintings, but he couldn't hear them if they did speak. Someone risked looking batty if they were just talking to a picture...unless the picture spoke back. Maybe everyone here was just mad, and if you remove all of the sane people from the room then 'mad' becomes normal and normal becomes 'sane'. He didn't really know what to think of that, nor did he really know why he was thinking it. Maybe he was a little more tired than he thought he was, maybe he needed something better to do that wasn't watching paintings. He looked around at the other students, some were reading papers or books, most were just chatting away to friends. How nice it must be to have people to sit with, but then... it did look awfully exhausting as well. At least this way, he could finish what he was doing at his own pace and go when he felt like it, he didn't have to risk offending anyone.

─────Seven was a bit late to the Great Hall. They probably should've eaten way earlier, but they had been busy with homework. They wanted to have a good start to their second year at Hogwarts, which meant working harder.

They needed somewhere to sit. They didn't want to seem lonely by not talking to anyone, so they decided to just pick somewhere at random. They quickly walked over to someone and sat down next to him. They didn't bother introducing themself yet, as they needed food before doing or saying anything else. Perhaps it would be a good idea to get less stressed out about schoolwork. Whatever, it was fine.

A plate containing some sort of casserole appeared in front of Seven, inviting them to begin eating. They gladly accepted, using a fork to scoop the food into their mouth. So, maybe they weren't being super dignified. Who cared? They needed to eat to survive. But at the same time they were thinking about that, Seven started eating a little slower, making sure that their bites were deliberate and not messy. After all, they were sitting next to a new person.

Without looking up, they said, "Hi, My name's Seven Finney."
