After her first day in Summer Camp, Xin only had one thing to say. WHY IS THE SCHOOL SOOOO BIG? That was an understatement, as the Campgrounds was no where near big, on the contrary, it was HUGE! GIGANTIC! Which meant that a student could get lost at least once, especially who have no sense of direction. Unfortunately, Xin did not have a great sense of direction, absolute no sense of direction, to say accurately. Which was why she was now wandering somewhere in the campgrounds, far from the Dragon Dormitory she was supposed to be in.

It took her another hour of wandering aimlessly through the green to realize.

Yeah, she was lost. Completely and truly, lost.

Not that the girl would admit this to anyone. She was too proud to stoop that low and ask for help. Which changed dramatically. Looking at the ever darkening sky, her mind clouded with worry. Xin could see students and professors all around, sitting on the crisp green grass and admiring the magical sunset. However, the girl was too shy to ask, so kept wandering like nothing had happened, and she was merely have a satisfying stroll. That, certainly was not the case.

A familiar red color popped from behind a tree. Taking a few steps closer, a boy with flaming red hair and shiny green eyes came into view. Xin recognized him to be a member of her dorm, and was just about to ask him the way before- He looks sly, like a fox to speak accurately, the girl gulped down her words and stared at the boy, who conveniently didn't notice the small girl. Should I trust him? Xin was having second thoughts as she looked at the fox-like boy.

They all say 'don't judge a book by its cover', but Xin was too judgmental to bother. As she evaluated the boy's slyness in her head, the fox - no wait, the boy, turned round and fixed his stare on the girl behind him...

A Welsh boy was standing beside a tree, contemplating what it took to be an animagus when he felt eyes watching him from afar. He turned to see a girl he recognized from his cabin. He wasn't sure he remembered her name if she had given it, but he remembered her face well enough with her long, black hair, dark eyes, and Asian features. She seemed very young and he wondered if she was a first year - or maybe going to be a first year once school started up again. Something about the way she looked made him wonder if she knew where she was going.

"Hey," he called, walking over to her. "We were assigned to the same cabin, weren't we? I'm Jack Burnett, but you can call me Burnett. Almost everyone does."

Looking around, he stretched his arms up toward the sky and yawned. "I wonder what we're having for dinner, but I think I'll stay out a little longer. What about you? Are you on a walk?"

The young man sat in the grass and stared at the sunset, careful to avoid staring directly at the sun as it painted the undersides of the clouds brilliantly vivid colors. He plucked idly at a few stray blades of grass beside him, lost in thought.

“Hey,”

The boy Xin had been spying on staring at walked over, and introduced himself as Jack Burnett. “Hi… um, Burnett?” the girl replied uncertainly, it felt awkward calling people by their last names. “Oh, um… I’m Fang Yun-Xin… just call me Xin” she stumbled a bit on her words and flushed a shade of crimson.

“What about you? Are you on a walk?”

It was that question Xin had been dreading. She couldn’t exactly tell the truth, asking a near stranger for help was in her mind… rather embarrassing. “Oh, um… I was merely enjoying the sunset,” she lied, plastering a big smile on her face, “Beautiful sunset isn’t it?” However, a glance at the sky said everything. The sun had already sank under the horizon and the sunset had disappeared, leaving darkness hovering over the Campgrounds. Fumbling for her words, Xin silently cursed herself for not even thinking before replying. So she just smiled awkwardly and pretended that nothing was wrong. Actually everything was wrong. Can’t find her way, tick. Extremely hungry, another tick. Full of spiders and disgusting bugs, tick tick tick! In a word, wrong.

“Don’t you think you should get back for dinner?” the girl asked hopefully with a glance at her watch. “The time is near supper.” In truth, Xin just wanted to get back to her accommodation as fast as possible, it was a near torture to be standing in a place infested with creepy crawlies when it’s dark. Perhaps I can follow him back, she thought and her face lit up, then I won’t be surrounded by these stuff. With hope on the horizon, Xin decided to remain silent unless the boy spoke to her, as to avoid suspicions. Suddenly interested by a leaf, Xin silently wished Jack would believe her story, although she knew the chances were tiny. Just don’t be like an idiot and tease me about it, she sighed, I do hope this Jack boy is not as sly and cunning as he seems.
