backstory

Cecilia was born on a small farm in England, to parents Thomas and Hilda Hawthorne. The couple already had their hands full, as Cecilia was their 5th child. In total they are 7 children. Cecilia always had a tough time bonding with her parents, seeing as they just didn't really have the time. Growing up she was mostly close to her older sister, Sybil, seeing as they were the only two girls out of the bunch. Cecilia looks up to Sybil, a lot, although it is clear to everyone, that the two are very different. Sybil is prettier and more well-mannered, something that Cecilia is secretly very jealous of. Cecilia has always been rowdy, and more boyish, both in her appearance and her personality. Her brothers always tease her, and occasionally they get in fights. Growing up with so many siblings, has led her to become insecure about her own individuality - or rather lack her lack of, in her opinion. She attended the same school as all her siblings, but had her own small friend group. She wasn't exactly popular, but everyone knew who Cecilia was. It's hard to go under the radar when you're a rowdy redhead, who's always getting into trouble. Cecilia disliked school a lot, and really only enjoyed seeing her friends, although she still heavily preferred the farm animals at home, to them.

Cecilia has red hair, and big blue eyes. She has freckles that cover her entire body. Her skin is pale, but gets red easily, especially when she's feeling big emotions. She is quite tall for her age, but very skinny and boney. Her appearance makes it very hard for her to blend in, as she's very easy to spot in a crowd (except of course, when she's surrounded by her family - who almost all look exactly like her)

personality

Cecilia is rowdy and outspoken. Since her parents rarely paid attention to her, she would act up a lot to get attention. She is loud, too loud, according to her mother, but Cecilia deems it better than being quiet. She is passionate and stupidly stubborn. She will stand up for what she believes in, and her loved ones, even if there are negative consequences. She has no respect for authority figures, if she thinks they're treating her, or others, unfairly. The same goes for rules she doesn't understand.

first instance of magic

Cecilia's first instance of magic, happened when she was just 9 years old, that's the first she's noticed, anyway. When Cecilia was mad, upset, or lonely, she would sometimes find comfort in talking to the farm animals. One day, while talking to a cow, her mother was yelling for her to come back inside, as she still had chores to do. She stood up, stomped her feet, and loudly yelled, "I DON'T WANT TO." as the doors to the barn suddenly shut, all at once, and locked themselves. Cecilia was shocked, but impressed, but to her disappointment, nobody in her family believed her when she tried telling them what had happened.
