Closed The Accident and The Engraved Apple (Pt. 2) PV Mellani Miller

1st Year, September 2022

Despite the embarrassing accident with his malfunctioning school bag, and the someone had engraved his his apple with the words 'Welcome to Hogwarts', Simon was glad that the situation had created an opportunity for him to get to know one of his new classmates. After Mellani Miller helped him, they decided to do their homework together some place else than the library (which was almost like a pool of sharks for the first years with all the pranksters lurking about).

"So, what do you think of the classes today? And what do you think your favorite subjects are gonna be?", asked Simon as they exited the library and closed the door behind them.

"I mean... They were a lot better than the subjects at muggle-school. They were also really fun, but they felt really different somehow. I'm just so used to normal stuff, I never expected this. I think I like Charms, though. I haven't decided yet. What about you?"

"Oh, so you went to a Muggle school too?" He was happy to hear that he was not the only one of the two with a connection to the Muggle world. "Yes, it's hard to say at this point. It's still a bit overwhelming, really. I liked Professor Fresnel as a teacher, though. She seems very thoughtful and fond of her students, and as equally fond of her subject, I think, which is a good sign. Part from that I would guess History of Magic and Herbology will be two subjects in my taste."

Simon had been so focused on Mellani that he did not pay attention to the road. They had went up a stair and followed a stream of students through a door to the right which led them into a new corridor. Hogwarts was like a maze! He realized he had no idea where the corridor led, whether it was back to the Astronomy Wing or the South Wing or any other wing. There were two armor statues further down in the corridor at the T-section. The walls were mostly covered with moving portraits in golden frames. They passed a young Hufflepuff girl with pigtails, carrying a big toad, and a group of older Gryffindors (one of them used his wand to send a firework-like spell after his friend as the others cheered). Everywhere they went there was excitement and anticipation in the air, this first day of school.
