Back at ground zero

Please don't ask me to tell you why I went up to the owlery today.
I don't know what compelled me to do it, but I soon found myself sitting among the rubbish of owl feathers and owl droppings, holding a single piece of parchment in my hand and a nifty muggle tool called a pen in my other hand. I wanted to write a letter to my muggle friend back in Folkestone, Dahlia Newton, but I wasn't going to ask an owl to deliver it for me...
I would deliver it myself. I'd tell her how great and exciting "boarding school" had been, and how I might never see her again after this because my parents were now divorced and I was going to go live in the Welsh countryside with my grandparents. The only way I'd be able to reach her was through letters, since the service was terrible there. And now I had to move to Wentwood, though I was making a brief visit to Folkestone to say goodbye.
After school, of course. So, once again, I was sulking. How, I don't know, it's been weeks since I got the letter that started this all, but now I just really needed to get away for a while and not make any contact with wizard civilization...just me, myself, and my thoughts. And the owls of course, who kept vying for my attention. Part of the reason why I didn't get an owl.
And now here I was, and the school year was just two days from ending. I should be happy, but I'm not...I was back at ground zero, the same way I felt on the 5th of June. And I'd give the cold shoulder to whoever bothered to come up here.
