Why the Long Face?

The last month of school is always such a bittersweet time for me. Missing old friends, but at least there are no more exams for the next 2 months! So then why was I feeling so sad? I hate being blue; it feels very unnatural, and it makes me super moody and melancholic for no good reason sometimes. But I had a reason.
Actually, two: Number one, my parents were getting divorced(or already are, for all that I know, Mum hardly sends me any letters), and number two: We're moving. To Wales. Away from my muggle friend Dahlia, and away from the only home I've ever known. The silver lining is that I'll be living with my muggle grandparents; my dad's parents, and they own a horse ranch and a dog, two of my favourite animals in the whole entire world.
But for now, I was feeling quite blue. To help mull over my sullen thoughts, I decided to get out of the castle and get some fresh air by going outside. I went to the courtyard today since I didn't often find a whole lot of people there. Pulling my knees up to my chest, I sighed and stared blankly at the sky and the birds and the trees. Less than 20 days had passed since I first got the letter from my mom that said that they were getting divorced.
Honestly, I was still wondering why this could happen. My parents had always been so happy again, but a lot of my mom's family are prejudiced purebloods and have always been putting pressure on my mum, along with other things. At first, I had been angry, but over the last couple of weeks, I've cooled down a bit, but now I just feel as lively as a pool of mud(which is ironic, because I hate mud). Though, hopefully, things will pick up by the summertime.

─────Sometimes Hogwarts could be crowded and Seven needed a break from the chaos. So, they headed toward the courtyard. The area always had students laughing and playing games and doing homework, but it was surprisingly empty. There was, however, a girl sitting down. She had dark red hair and freckles.
But as Seven looked closer, they realized that she seemed to be sad about something. Maybe they could go over and help cheer her up.
Nope. Seven was most definitely not doing that. They would be weird or, even worse, trip and fall right in front of the girl. That wouldn't make anyone happy.
But if it worked, Seven could make a new friend. They would've also felt satisfied that they had been able to improve someone's day. After a nice conversation, the two would promise to meet up again and they would part their separate ways, both better people. Perhaps that was a bit of an overexaggeration. Seven wasn't going to make everything perfect, but they could help the girl to have a good day.
They sighed and hoped they wouldn't mess up. Then they walked over to the girl.
"Hi."
It was a really simple sentence. Only one word.

I didn't even notice that I wasn't alone in the Courtyard after all, lost in my own thoughts. I was so distracted with myself and my feelings that I didn't see the student right in front of me, though I wished I had. "Hi." I let out a small gasp and immediately looked up. I really hadn't expected someone to be there.
After getting over my surprise, I looked the kid up and down, a bit grumpy that somebody had disturbed my thoughts. They seemed about my age and year. For once, I wasn't in the mood for first introductions and first impressions, so I sighed heavily and said, "Who are you and what do you want?" in a rather unfriendly tone.
I looked down at my feet, my knees pulled up to my chest and wished that I hadn't come out here in the first place, that everything was the way it should be, that my surname was still Griffith, and I wished I was having a better June. Who knows, maybe next time. But for now, I had to determine what to do about the kid currently invading the space that was supposed to be deserted, where I could think about my own thoughts without any interruptions.
But then again, there was always going to be one other person in the Courtyard, no matter how many times you've checked...

─────Seven always got nervous when they were meeting someone new. It was just a part of their personality. But they had become more confident since coming to Hogwarts. Most of the people there were so nice. Then Seven made a mistake. They thought they could cheer the girl up, but she seemed annoyed at them.
"I... I'm sorry. I thought... Well, I was... I was walking around here and I saw you and... you looked kind of sad so I thought maybe I could help?"
Seven no longer cared about that. They had probably made the girl's day even worse by coming up to her and saying all that. Seven was a Ravenclaw, which was known as the smartest and wisest house. They should've known that disturbing the girl would be a mistake.
Then Seven remembered that she hadn't simply asked why they were there. No, she had also been wondering what their name was.
"My name's Seven," they added.
Seven didn't even care about what the girl's reaction to their name would be. Before, they had been really worried about that every time they introduced themself, but Seven had already messed up. There wasn't a point in trying to make her want to be friends with them.
