It was late August, nearly September, the days supposed to be spent on buying stationary and preparing for secondary school. Except this wasn’t the case this year. The usual pencils and erasers and black pens replaced by quills, ink bottles, and parchment. And the normal just-walking-to-the-nearest-shop was pushed out of the way by a much, much more exciting trip.

Which is why Xin found herself inside Diagon Alley, preparing for her first year in a magnificent school, at least that was what she had heard from a boy @Oliver Thorn. But coming to think of it, the girl shouldn’t keep her hopes up at all, for that boy was a total idiot, and believing his lunatic words were not a good choice. Still, she hoped for the best, and crossed her fingers to be sorted in Gryffindor.

After buying all her stuff, the witch wandered around aimlessly, simply enjoying the pleasure of window shopping. Everything looked out of the world, filled with magic a muggle could never imagine. She saw a lot of luxuries that never existed in the muggle world, the world she came from. Xin rounded a corner and was met by this little shop just on the outskirts of Diagon Alley. She could just make out the words Magical Menagerie on the old yet lively sign that hung above a shop window.

As a girl particularly interested in animals, Xin just couldn’t contain her curiosity and excitement when being in a pet shop. The wooden doors were opened, and the choir of owls, bunnies, rats, snakes, cats welcomed her inside. There was a sweet and cozy aroma in the shop. Twirling and dancing it filled the little room with much comfort.

The first thing noticed about this shop was the number and variety of animals it housed. From cute bunnies to creepy crawlies, the Menagerie was home to all kinds of desired pets. As the witch walked down aisle after aisle, a brown rat make her stop in her tracks. The rat was so small, as big as a palm, and so adorable, nibbling on a piece of cheese with a look of satisfaction on its plump little face.

Xin was drawn to it immediately. Emptying her bag with all contents, the girl managed to scrape together 5 galleons, just enough to buy this cute rat. "May I buy him?" she asked the shopkeeper, a friendly old woman wearing a flowery patterned dress, she put down 4 galleons 2 sickles, "I promise I’ll take care of you-" she thought for a moment, and finally smiled, "WALL-E." Xin decided, and whispered,

"I’ll take good care of you, my WALL-E."
