It was Danielle's first Astronomy lesson, which she had highly anticipated. Since it was in the evening (that made sense; how else would they see the stars?), Danielle had tried to ask her brass cup nicely for some coffee at dinner, and to her surprise, it had magically filled with a steaming latte. Even though it was still somewhat bitter, she gulped it down, knowing that it could help her focus during class. Come on, she was twelve already. What was the worst a little coffee could do?
With her textbooks and quills, she hiked up the steps to the astronomy classroom with the rest of her class and a prefect, who led them to the lower observation deck, where the professor awaited them.
For the next few minutes of class, Danielle listened to the professor explain what they would do in the course, the expectations, blah blah. When they finally got to the learning part, she practically bolted upright from the cushions to take notes. She didn't catch a few details, though, so she looked around to see if there was anyone who could fill her in.
There was a first year Hufflepuff who looked like he might be of help, so she spoke up.
"Hi, could I take a look at your notes? I didn't quite hear what the professor said now, and I have a feeling it was rather important. I'm Danielle, by the way. Danielle Emberwood. You?"

As the professor moved on to the actual lesson, Axyen became awake and extremely interested, he wanted to ask a ton of questions, although he was way to nervous to do so. So It was silent note-taking for Axyen, he listened as the professor then moved to the Tellurion, which had Axyen's interest as well, all of these cool instruments, his handwriting was messy but he continued writing at a quick pace, Axyen understood his handwriting and that's all that mattered.

Axyen was deep in notes, until he noticed a student, they were in Ravenclaw and then they proceeded to ask Axyen for his notes and introduces themselves as Danielle Emberwood and proceeded to ask for Axyen's name. "O-oh... hi." Axyen said nervously, passing over his notes but still carefully watching the professor. "D-don't mind t-the handwriting...." Axyen said quietly. "I-I'm Axyen Dragonclaw by the way..." Axyen added.

The professor was explaining the Tellurion and Axyen made sure to focus his full attention on what the Tellurion did, it had the earth, the sun, and the moon. This interested Axyen even more, he naturally went to write something, but then remembered that he had given the notebook with his notes to Danielle, but he kept a mental note of the Tellurion and would write it down once she was done copying down his notes.

The boy passed over his notes, rather nervously, as Danielle noted. DId she scare him? Or startle him? She didn't know, but she made a point to look over his notes faster, or at least as fast as possible, given the writing. She copied down what she had missed, which turned out to be a few sentences and parts about the Tellurion. As she wrote, she also listened with one ear to the professor, to make sure she didn't miss any more additional parts of the current lecture. Astronomy was a rather interesting and fun class, and Danielle was determined to suceed in it.
"Your handwriting's fine," she said to the Hufflepuff boy. "You should see mine when I'm in a rush! Axyen, that's a cool name! I've never heard it before." And she hadn't. She wondered how to spell it, but maybe she would ask that question when the class was over. Points would probably be deducted from both their houses if the professor caught her talking.
Danielle didn't say too much, since she had to listen to the professor and make sure she understood what was being taught in the lesson at hand.
"Thank you!" said, and passed back the Hufflepuff boy's notebook.

Axyen patiently listened to the professor while waiting for Danielle to finish. Axyen watched as the professor began talking about a Jovilabe which got Axyen's attention once again focused on the lesson and becoming interested, the Jovilabe showed Jupiter with four moons around it, as the professor explained. Wow, this is so interesting! I wonder if I can try out the instruments some time. Axyen thought to himself. The idea of trying out these instruments were fun and Axyen really wanted to try, but sadly he couldn't do that. He heard Danielle tell Axyen that his handwriting was fine, and then mentioned her handwriting when she is rushed. Axyen knew that writing quickly and trying to catch up with the rest of the class did tend to create messier notes. Danielle also said that Axyen had a cool name and how she has never heard it before in which Axyen sheepishly looked down and muttered "T-thanks...."

Axyen smiled as the notebook was handed back to him and heard the words 'thank you' Axyen quickly wrote whatever he missed, which he was writing fast, and just in time Axyen finished his added notes. Before saying "Y-you're w-welcome..." Axyen said nervously. The professor proceeded to go over a Lunarium, a device that showed only the moon and Earth, Axyen interest was skyrocketing. Axyen took more notes, but decided to try and make conversation as this seemed like a good opportunity to make a new friend to Axyen, but the only problem is that Axyen isn't really good at making conversation. Axyen tried to think of something before he decided to try and make conversation. "Um..." Axyen said, deep in thought. "S-so what d-do you l-like...?" Axyen asked, that was a decent question to start a conversation, right?

Once Danielle passed back the Hufflepuff boy's notebook, she continued listening to the professor talk. As they went over various tools and devices that could be used for Astronomy, Danielle wondered if she would ever get the chance to actually use one herself in real life. She found Astronomy as a subject rather interesting and was curious to learn more, though she had no plans to pursue it as a career or profession in the future. Her page was almost filled at this point with notes, so she turned to a fresh page. She disliked how the page on the left side of the notebook always felt funky and uncomfortable to write on, but the trees were dying and she had to do it to save paper.
In a blink of an eye, it seemed, the class was almost over, and after copying down the homework due next class, Danielle snapped closed the notebook and put everything else into her bag. Axyen had asked her what she liked, and she responded, continuing the conversation and maybe opening up the possibility of a new friend.
"Oh, well I enjoy acrylic painting during my free time. I do certain types of dance and sometimes give singing a go. My favorite class is DADA, what about you? Is it Astronomy?"

Axyen wrote more notes, wondering if he would ever get the chance to use the tools, Axyen was hoping for to ask the professor for a moment to get to use the tools, Axyen gave an inaudible sigh as he had a face full of disappointment only for a second. He knew that for the moment, he was too nervous to ask the professor to use the tools, so Axyen wondered if he would ever get to use these tools. Axyen yawned slightly, he also loved Astronomy, but hated how late it ended up being, he wondered if it was possible to just study Astronomy in the day, it probably would've been much better for Axyen if it was like that.

Axyen listened as Danielle explained to Axyen what she liked, some type of painting style(well, that's what Axyen assumed anyways), dancing, and occasionally singing. "T-that sounds cool." Axyen responded stuttering slightly as he said so. Axyen listened as Danielle said her favorite class was Defense Against the Dark Arts, which happened to be Axyen's favorite class as well. Danielle asked what Axyen's favorite class was and guessed that it was Astronomy. "N-no," Axyen said pausing slightly for a moment, though he was unsure why he paused at all. He didn't need to think of an answer really, though it was probably because he was just nervous. "A-actually m-my favorite is a-also Defense A-Against the D-Dark A-A-Arts." Axyen said, stuttering multiple times in that sentence which he silently scolded himself for. "W-when you grow up," Axyen started, thinking of another topic, but hopefully not completely unrelated. Axyen was making sure the professor wasn't finished, and thankfully he wasn't. "What do you plan to be?" Axyen asked, recently he wanted to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, or an Auror, but Axyen could also see himself as a Magizoologist, or the Care of Magical Creatures professor. Axyen thought further, maybe even a Professional Duelist. Axyen felt as if it was impossible to choose one career, how would he choose when the day to choose a job came?
