The knock that suddenly echoes through the office pulls Amalia's attention away from the scroll before her. Quickly tidying some of the mess that has gradually spread across the desk, she's just preparing to call for the visitor to enter when an unfamiliar voice rings out from the other side of the door.

The slightly muffled introduction draws out an amused smile. First years, though seemingly few and far between with her chosen subject matter, were always a rather surprising delight. "Always happy to be of assistance. Please feel free to enter, Miss Jiang," she calls out in response as the last of the scattered scrolls are shoved off to one side. Good enough for now. They were at least mostly out of the way.

Amalia clasps her hands together atop the desk before her and waits to see if the Ravenclaw will enter. A bright smile and wave of the hand towards the chair across from the professor await the girl should she follow through with the invitation. "It's not every day that I have first years taking the initiative with Runes, so I commend you on that." She was never one to turn down a potential challenge, especially if there was a potential learning opportunity to be had. "Now then, what do you have for me today?"

Cassie is very excited when the professor agreed. She seems friendly and kind. Cassie walks inside the professor's office. She looks at an empty chair in the room. She stands beside it. 'May I sit here madam?' she says.

After sitting down, she takes out her dictionary of Ancient Runes. 'Professor,' she says, 'this is my own dictionary of Ancient Runes. I have had great interest in Study of Ancient Runes at a young age. I begged my parents to buy me this when shopping at the Diagon Alley. I am here, today, to ask if I can use this dictionary I had read over already to help you translate something, professor. Perhaps you have some books, or some passages waiting to be translated from English to Ancient Runes, or from Ancient Runes to English, I am willing to help!'

Cassie says, with a warm smile. She waits for the professor's reply to her request. After all, the professor of Study of Ancient Runes, professor Rolfo, seems kind and friendly, perhaps she will agree Cassie to help?

Meanwhile, Cassie is a bit nervous as well, she has never translated anything with the dictionary, what if she can't do the work? But she is sure, with practise, she can do it well!

Amalia offers the girl a warm smile and nods, gesturing towards the chair beside the young student. "Of course, of course. Please, make yourself comfortable." Settling back into her own chair, the professor waits for the Cassie to get situated.

Immediately dropping her attention to the runes dictionary brought forth, she relaxes a little more into her seat. Runes she could handle. It was some of the other challenges that came with instructing young minds that she was still working on adjusting to. Amalia listens to the first year's request, her own thoughts already wandering over her collection of books and scrolls in consideration. She was never going to turn down a curious mind.

Rising from her chair, Amalia wanders over towards one of the bookcases. "Lets see here." She examines the spines of the books on one shelf, one finger trailing across the bindings as she looks for her target. A small, pleased hum breaks free as she finds the book she sought and pulls it from the shelf. She returns to her desk and offers Cassie another small smile.

"I have to say, it's nice to see an interest in runes at such a young age. I do have to advise caution if you're looking to experiment with writing runes themselves at any point, as they do have the potential to be dangerous. But," she quickly adds, smile blooming into an amused grin, "some practice translating should prove helpful enough to get a better understanding of the runes on a slightly more mundane level."

Setting the book atop the desk and sliding it towards the first year, Amalia reveals her selection. A first edition copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, the text written entirely in medieval runes. "I'm not sure if you've read any of these stories before, but if you find yourself struggling at any point then the library should at least have the already translated versions to help you along."

Cassie sits down, to listen to professor Rolfo's words before translating.

'Thank you professor. My interest was developed at a young age. My house has quite a large reading room, and some of the books are written in Ancient Runes. I feel the letters very very beautiful and mysterious, so I developed deep interest in it. Thank you madam for letting me have a try.' Cassie gives a large and warm grin.

'There is still a little more than one year before I can attend Study of Ancient Runes lessons, I hope there will be enough time for me to practise. I will definitely choose this lesson and attend it.' Cassie imagines how she can still get all Os in Study of Ancient Runes.

She watches as professor Rolfo pulls out a book of Tales of Beedle the Bard. 'Ah, yes, they used to be my bedtime stories when I was young, madam, I can nearly recite every one of them, this is indeed a great book to start translating with. I have brought the dictionary with me, so I think I can handle it well.'

Cassie opens the book and her dictionary, and pulls out a piece of parchment and her quill. 'I wonder, madam, if I can know what kind of dangers there can be.'
