It's A Small World After All PV Finished

Despite her occasional looking around, someone calling out her name still seemed to catch the girl off guard, head lurching upwards to try and pinpoint where the sound originated from. Eyes blinked when she finally found the person, certain that they had spoken and that she knew the other's name and yet- oh! Lea nodded, moving a bit to close her book and place it to the opposite side from where Linda seemed to want to sit. "Oh, sure. Hi, it's- Linda, right?" She paused for a moment, waiting for confirmation before continuing, "I'm doing alright. Just a little... all over the place. How- how are you?" The third year didn't quite know what else to add, instead nodding her head slightly as a hand reached up to play with her braid.

"Have you had any more trouble with curfew since?" It wasn't much of a conversation starter, but Lea had never been particularly good at conversations. She'd glance over to make sure that her quill hadn't accidentally rolled away before returning her attention back to the younger student. "What brought you out to the courtyard today? Or do you typically like being outside?" The Hufflepuff typically preferred the warmth and comfort of the indoors, but she could understand why some would want to be outside in moments like these.

Thank goodness. Lea evaded some embarrassment by properly remembering Linda's name, even if not as confident in her answer as the Gryffindor had been. She nodded slightly before tilting her head to the side and looking at the younger student in curiosity. "Oh, that's good. Just in search of what?" It seemed a bit of a strange way to introduce the idea, hoping she wasn't stepping any boundaries with the question. Surely Linda wanted Lea to question it and offer more of an explanation?

"Heh." She let out a small huff, brown eyes glancing down off to the side before her gaze returned to the younger girl. "Yeah, it's a pretty... captivating? space." Her eyes lingered on the sky during her pauses, as though looking for the answer somewhere in the clouds. "Did you get in trouble or were you able to get back to your common room in time?" How long of a trek it must be to get back to the Gryffindor common room- the Hufflepuff was suddenly quite thankful for their common room location and its proximity to the more popular school areas.

"Ah, no. I know how long it takes to get to my dormitory." Three years of experience and a better understanding of the stairs helped, generally pretty good at not breaking curfew. Only a few exceptions existed, past mistakes that Lea didn't view as (entirely) her fault.

"Same reason, then." She nodded, taking in the words for a moment. "Although my typical preference is indoors. Pretty consistent environment," the girl offered, shifting to look a little more towards Linda. "Notes as well." Another commonality. "I'm journaling a bit- what about your notes?"

"Oh." Eyes blinked, slowly taking in Linda's words. Was this the person others talked about? Perhaps, or perhaps there were multiple students around campus who wished to learn the language. Regardless, "I know German. I can ...probably... help." The probably was softer than the other words, clear that she had no experience teaching a language before. But it couldn't be too hard, right? If it was, there would be resources available in the library that the two could look at while taking great care to look at the time. There would be no repeats on almost running late. "Is there some subject you want to focus on in German first or how much do you already know?"

"Yeah. Don't get distracted and you'll be fine." She paused before adding on, "and hope the stairs like you." That would be a more significant factor for Gryffindor and the advice helped lessen the harshness of her first comment. "They were nice- that's nice." Her lips pursed and she nodded softly, letting the silence pan out as the third year had nothing else to add to that topic. Her lack of experience with breaking curfew meant she had very little guidance to give on the matter.

"Cool." Same then. Considering Lea didn't much want to share her journal entries, the Hufflepuff suppressed any further inquiries so that Linda couldn't ask questions in return. German worked as any easy next topic though, so she'd continue her comments in that vein instead. "What- got you interested in learning German?"

"As you were thinking to?" She gave Linda a curious tilt of her head as she repeated the Gryffindor's words. "Were you able to- or do you have plans to do so in the future?" Not that travel was necessary to be interested in another language, but the wording intrigued the third year. The motivation to speak to people in their native tongue was understandable though, something that Lea could appreciate and nod along to. Basics made sense, things that Linda might need to say should she travel there and perhaps eventually enough to keep up a small conversation. "So... like manners, greetings, and maybe some simple questions for now?" She could probably handle that, especially if it was mainly memorization versus learning potential changes in tense or sentence structure. The Hufflepuff gazed out and away, currently not paying attention to the first year as she softly hummed before nodding and grabbing her journal and quill once more. The pages flipped until Lea found some blank ones far enough away from her previous notes before she turned back to Linda to show the currently empty book.

"Okay- well, we can start with getting up to ten for numbers I guess?" She quickly scribbled down the numbers as 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. with their one line, enough space for her to add the German written form for each. "You said you know one through three-" Brown eyes turned from the page to Linda, pausing to let her say those numbers if she did indeed know them. Regardless of response, the Hufflepuff would correct them before continuing on to ten, repeating each out loud and writing it down on the page. "Is- Do you know any languages outside of English currently?" It wouldn't change much, but had the other learned a foreign language before then perhaps she knew what had worked and what didn't. Otherwise both would be flying blind for the beginning.
