Hogwarts Robes

Mari headed inside the owlery with a piece of paper and envelope in hand. She looked at the letter she had written out for her family, reading over it again to make sure she didn't want to add anything else. Once she was satisfied, she folded the letter and placed it into the envelope. She looked around at the owls that were waiting, going over to a white owl and handing them the envelope. "Hello lovely one, please take this to my parents." She said to it and the owl took flight, carrying her letter off to her parents back home.
Dear Mum & Dad,
I miss you all very much. It has been just over a month since coming to Hogwarts, I'm sorry it has taken so long to send an owl home but I wanted to wait until I got settled and could tell you everything that has happened. The ride here on the Hogwarts Express was amazing, the train moved so fast but inside the cabins you couldn't tell as we just sat comfortably and ate our snacks. I did meet someone on the train, Linda, they were very sweet. I even enjoyed a chocolate frog like dad suggested. I will definitely be trying to grow my collection as much as possible. Classes so far have been interesting and fun but also a lot of work but don't worry I am trying my best in all my studies and will be sure to report back to you my progress in my next letter. Oh! I didn't even tell you what happened at the sorting yet! I know father was hoping I would join his house, what do you think I got sorted in to? Well, I actually ended up becoming a Hufflepuff. So far my new dormmate and I have become rather close, the others I have met in the common room have been very sweet as well, especially some upperclassmen who have told me all sorts of stories. I haven't gotten to see much just yet but I do intend to walk around and just explore, at least everywhere that I am allowed to. I think I might join some clubs too, just not sure what ones yet.
Enough about me, how are all of you doing back home? Is Jae behaving? I promise I will bring him back some treats when I come home for the holidays. Have you heard from grandma? I wish I could tell her all the amazing things I have seen and learned but please at least tell her I said I missed her and that I love her. Oh and give Oreo some head pats and treats for me. Sadly I have to head back to my dorm now before it gets to be too late. I will be sure to write again and I look forward to a letter back!
