Colin's Quicquidlibets
A quicquidlibet is a trifle Lythe and listen magic folk
to what I have to say:
Rich or poor or bare & broke
do lend your ear my way!
Colin has the gifts of gab
of bardic poesy;
He can write sarcastic jab
or tender poetry!
Slide a coin now me toward
and spill to me thy tea;
There on parchment, paper, board
I’ll write thy poemy!a petite rien, done in rhyme.
Welcome to Colin's Quicquidlibets, a shop where you can buy a really cool little snippet of poetry! Some of you may already know that Colin has a penchant for poking fun at a Certain Slytherin Prefect with his wicked quill work. If you like that kind of thing, take a look down at the gallery below and, perhaps I'll write something for you!
Some uses that spring to mind are, obviously, courtship and dating. Maybe your character just can't rhyme heart and fart to save his life --- no worries! Just tell me about your dearly beloved, what kind of poem you'd like and what it's for and I'll do the raspberry tarts of rhymecraft!
Or you might want to write a spanking snarky little snippet on the wall in astronomy class after Professor Baird takes points off your essay because you've no idea what a planet even is! Well, I can do that too! (NOTE: Colin does not condone writing snark on teachers' blackboards, but he will happily speed you on your way to detention for doing so!)
Or, you might be writing a piece with a long time writing partner and maybe you want a little verse to describe or set a mindset for your writing. I'm happy to tackle projects of that sort too!
I generally like to keep the length of these down, because they do take effort, skill, and art to write. The minimum, of course, is a rhymed (or if you prefer, an alliterative) couplet. Perfect for a sweet little quandorum or a salty bit of satire. Generally, I write in quatrains; but sometimes other verse forms as well. These are perfect for your character to shout whilst running through the corridors between classes!
PRICESPoor wretched first years who can't get money out of their pockets can trade. Let's talk over a cup of tea and we'll come up with a trade!
Rhymed couplet....s1/- Quatrain.......s5/- up to 4.......ʛ1/1/- long or complex...per discussion
