A Prefect Friend pv Clair Closed

Clair had gotten up early to get to the library before classes started.
She was not exactly sure what she was looking for, other than a book to read.
The positives of living in a giant castle with tons of other kids was that the library was huge, If she managed to read the whole library before her graduation Clair would be very surprised and happy with herself.

She wandered slowly down the shelves, running her fingers over the binding of each book as she read the titles, maybe she was feeling like a book on the history of spells, no not really. What about a book on Transfiguration? Nah. Magical animals? Yes! Clair pulled the book out, it had a worm cover no doubt from being pulled out and put away so many times and read over and over. Clair briefly wondered how old the book was and how many times it was read.

She shrugged the thought away and walked back towards the desk to check the book out, only as she walked back she saw a young girl sitting at a desk. Something about her looked lost, like she was waiting for something or someone. Clair decided that she would check it out.

"Hey" she said once she was close enough to have a conversation, "I'm Clair Fernandez, Ravenclaw Prefect, you looked kind of lost, do you need any help?" she offered, figuring it would be best to just offer help and not wait for her to ask for it should she need something.

Just as Cassie is about to sit down and start reading, someone asks if she needs help, the sound comes from behind. She looks back, it is Clair Fernandez, the newest Ravenclaw prefect. She is asking if Cassie is lost.

'Hi Clair!' Cassie says in a happy voice, 'nice to see you here. First, congratulations for becoming the newest Ravenclaw prefect! I am not lost, actually, I am just here to read a book. I had this book about fun facts. Thanks for offering for help anyway. This desk is empty, you can sit with me if you want to. What are you doing here today?'

In Cassie's concept, making friends is a great thing. More friends, more help, more opportunities. Especially, this is a prefect. If they can become friends, it means more opportunities for Cassie.

'It's a nice day isn't it?' Cassie tries to find something to chat with her. 'I would love to study with you if you want to, Clair. You must be a great prefect right? You are so kind and helpful!' Cassie is not making up these words, every prefect is great, in her opinion, they will do a great job. She hopes that, one day perhaps, she might be a prefect too!

Clair smiled, "I'm glad to hear, figured I would just make sure! Thank you for the congratulations"
She was about to turn back to check out her book but Cassie spoke again, so Clair gave her all of her attention. "Sure, I guess it won't hurt to sit for a while." the prefect shrugged to herself and took a seat.

"I was just trying to find a book to read in my free time, Figured I would beat the afternoon craze by coming earlier. What about you?" Silly question, she could see what Cassie was doing, but then again did it really hurt to keep a conversation going?

"tis a nice day, I do like the warm weather much better than the cold," she replied, opening her book. She looked up from her book, "Well, I've only been a prefect for a few days so I have not really gotten to test myself." it was true, so far Clair had not had anything to make her really test her own limits in her new role, not that she really wanted to test them anyways.
"I'm sure we can study together sometimes, I often study in my dorm though" She flipped the page, and started to read that page.

'Oh, I am reading some random books too, I am tired of reading academics. You know, some rest will not affect my scores. Oh, I like warm weather too. This weather today is just perfect for me.' Cassie says, she is glad that the prefect is willing to chat with her, she is not arrogant or too proud of herself. Cassie really like people like her.

'I am sure you will do a great job as a prefect, Clair! I am sure you can impress all of us with your wonderful performance!' Cassie smiles, warmly. Cassie starts to read as she is talking. 'Oh, great! I would love to study with you. You will turn a third year in September, right? How wonderful it will be! You can go to Hogsmeade, you can learn the optional subjects! I longed to be a third year! I usually study in the library, sometimes in my common room of in the study room. But I can do studying everywhere, really.'

Cassie flips the page again, as she is finding what to say. 'Oh, you are a broom racer, right? I longed to be one, but I have not gotten a nice broom yet. My father says he will buy me one this summer vacation. I can't wait! I also signed up for Quidditch, I wonder which team will accept me first. If you want to, please tell me something about broom racing!'
