Stressing day
Bathilde Fireshadow stood on the platform, looking around nervously. She had never been on a train before, and the thought of leaving the farm and her parents behind made her feel anxious. She missed them already, but she knew that they couldn't come with her. Some animals were sick, and there was work to be done.
The night before, Bathilde and her parents had said their goodbyes. They had hugged her tightly and wished her well on her journey to Hogwarts. Bathilde had tried to put on a brave face, but as soon as she had closed the door behind her, she had broken down in tears. She was going to sleep at the apartment of her mom's friend, who lived in a town closer to the train station. She barely slept that night, tossing and turning in the uncomfortable bed at this foreign apartment. The unfamiliar surroundings had made her uneasy, and she couldn't shake the feeling of homesickness. She longed for the familiar sights and sounds of the farm, where she had spent most of her life.
As she boarded the train, she couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. The train was beautiful, with its polished wood paneling and plush seats. But there were so many people! She felt a knot forming in her stomach as she searched for an empty cabin. She finally found one with no one inside and settled in, feeling a little better.
Bathilde gazed out of the window as the train started to move, and her thoughts turned to Hogwarts. She was excited to start school and attend the potions classes. She had always been fascinated by the intricate art of potion-making, and she couldn't wait to learn more about it.
She also couldn't wait to dive into her new book, purchased for school, the famous Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Bathilde had heard great things about the book, and couldn't wait to read all about the magical creatures that existed in the wizarding world. She had always been fascinated by magical creatures even if she had only ever helped her parents care for the classic farm animals. She hoped that the book would give her more insight about the paranormal critters she would encounter at Hogwarts.
While searching in her bag she couldn't keep herself from thinking. She was worried about making friends. She didn't have much experience with socializing since she had been homeschooled since the age of eight and spent most of her time helping out on the farm or taking care of the animals. She never had many friends. Her parents were her best friends, and she spent most of her time with them or with the animals. This lack of socialization made her feel nervous about starting at Hogwarts. She worried that she wouldn't fit in or be able to make friend, she was afraid of being left out or made fun of. She sighed, feeling the weight of the unknown future settling on her shoulders.
As the train chugged along, Bathilde tried to distract herself by reading the book. She was amazed by the variety of creatures that Newt Scamander had encountered in his travels. She was particularly fascinated by the Thunderbird, a magnificent bird that had the power to create storms. She wondered if she would ever get to see one in person. She hoped so.
At one point, she looked out of the window and saw a beautiful field stretching out in front of her, magnificent, filled with lush green grass and wildflowers. She couldn't help but think about how the cows back at the farm would love to graze there. The thought of the familiar animals made her feel a little less homesick.
As the train approached a tunnel, Bathilde put down the book and took a deep breath. She knew that she couldn't stay cooped up in the cabin forever. She needed to venture out and try to make some friends.
As she stepped out of the cabin, she saw a group of students laughing and chatting in the corridor. She hesitated for a moment before approaching them.
"Hi," she said tentatively. "I'm Bathilde. Would it be okay if I joined you?"
The students turned to look at her, and Bathilde felt a twinge of anxiety. But then, to her surprise, one of them smiled and said, "Of course! We were just talking about magical creatures. Have you looked at Fantastic Beasts ?"
Bathilde's eyes lit up. "Yes, I have!" she said eagerly. "I'm really interested in the Thunderbird. Have you read about it?"
