Tes clutched the valentine's letter to her chest, skipping gleefully up the stairs to the owlery. Opelia, a prefect Tes had met previously, had come up to her in the hallway and handed her the letter a few days after the valentine's party. Tes hadn't managed to make it to the party itself, so it was a pleasant surprise to receive it. An even more pleasant surprise, it was from Zoe! The two hadn't spoken for most of the school year it felt like, and Tes couldn't wait to see her again. When she'd seen that Zoe had made it onto the quidditch team she'd meant to say something to congratulate her, but it had slipped her mind.

This letter had reminded her of her original plan. Instead of hoping the two would bump into each other in the hallway, Tes was planning to send off a letter to her mums and send this along with it, so it wouldn't get lost in the abyss of her place in the dorm. After she'd lost an entire pair of shoes for a week, she decided anything important to her would need to just be sent right on home. While she was here to send that, she was planning to write Zoe a letter saying hello and send that to her as well. She hadn't written one up yet, busy with classes as she'd been, but a place as cozy (and maybe a bit smelly) as the owlery was the perfect place to do it. Well, okay. Maybe it wasn't exactly cozy, with the open windows and noisy birds, but Tes enjoyed it plenty, not to mention it reminded her of the first time she and Zoe met.

Making her way inside, she threw herself down in a heap in the cleanest patch of floor near some school owls. Pulling out a slightly crumpled piece of clean parchment and sealed inkwell from her pocket, she set those aside and set to tying her letter to her mums with the valentine's letter curled safely inside of it to the nearest amiable owl, preparing to send it on its way to her home.
