Fins, Pebbles, and Wands
Donald Fish had always been fascinated by magic, and Transfiguration in particular. He loved the idea of changing one thing into another, the possibilities seemed endless. And now, as a second year student at Hogwarts, he had the opportunity to learn a spell that seemed almost too perfect for his name – the Fish Transformation Spell.
Donald excitedly made his way to one of Hogwarts' study rooms, eager to practice this new spell. He had a big book under his arm, a guide to advanced Transfiguration, which he hoped would help him succeed in learning the spell. Once inside the study room, Donald set up his workspace. He placed the big book on the table, opened it to the page detailing the Fish Transformation Spell, and carefully read the instructions. He then looked around the room for a suitable object to turn into a fish. Spotting a small, round pebble on the windowsill, he picked it up and placed it on the table in front of him.
Taking a deep breath, Donald made sure he was holding his wand correctly and pointed it at the pebble. "Piscifors!" he exclaimed, focusing all his concentration on the spell. To his disappointment, the pebble remained unchanged. It didn't even twitch or wobble. Frustrated, but not deterred, Donald decided to give it another go. He carefully read the spell's description in the book again, making sure he hadn't missed any crucial details. He then pointed his wand at the pebble once more and confidently said, "Piscifors!" This time, the pebble seemed to shimmer for a moment, but still, no fish appeared.
Donald's frustration grew, but he was determined to learn this spell. He thought about his family and their connection to fish, and how amazing it would be to show them that he could turn objects into fish by using magic. With renewed determination, he tried the spell again. "Piscifors!" he shouted, putting even more effort into it. This time, the pebble shook slightly, but instead of turning into a fish, it simply cracked in half. Donald groaned in frustration, feeling like he was getting nowhere. He glanced at the book once more, looking for any tips or advice that he might have missed. He noticed a small note in the margin, suggesting that the caster should visualize the type of fish they wanted to create, as it could help with the spell's effectiveness.
"Focus... Focus..."
