After saying goodbye to his parents on Platform 9 and 3/4, Alex was finally sitting in a compartment on the Hogwarts Express! From the moment he'd stepped on the platform, he had been in awe at the sight of the big steam engine. Sure, he'd read about the train his whole life since he was a Pureblood, but to actually see it in person was quite another thing entirely! The history of the train alone was incredible, and Alex took out his textbook that he had bought at Flourish and Blotts and began reading.

When the woman with the trolley full of candy came by, Alex asked for a moderate size of Every Flavoured Beans, Chocolate Frogs, and Liquorice Wands! The chocolate frogs were fascinating to him. He opened the first card and saw that it was Garrick Ollivander, the previous owner of the Wand Shop! Apparently he'd been making wands since 382 BC, well okay... Not just him, but Alex guessed many others helped him with his business. One man couldn't do everything!

Alex remembered when he'd gone to the shop and received his wand. It was a 31,1 cm cherry wood and dragon heartstring wand. He couldn't even remember what Ollivander had said to him when he'd received the wand, but the reality was that the wand chose the wizard. Alex hoped the man was right!
