For many years, Winona has been looking forward to finally being able to attend Hogwarts. While buying herself a wand and packing her stuff, she could barely handle her excitement. After convincing her family that she will be careful and just fine on her own, saying her goodbyes and giving hugs to her anxious yet proud parents, Winona left to go to the platform.
Just as she took a couple steps into the train, she was greeted with warm air and a slightly noticeable sugary scent of sweets. She continued on walking to find a cabin to sit, at first her intention was to sit alone in silence and enjoy a book she managed to fit into her trunk, she was still upset about not being able to bring more. Soon she noticed she must've been a little early, thanks to her usual punctuality, only a couple of cabins were spreading the sound of joyful chatter and laughter.
The atmosphere in the train filled her up with some kind of a warm, cozy feeling. "Didn't I spend enough time locked away from the world? I can always have time to spend alone, I should take this chance to make friends." the young girl thought to herself. Since there were still many empty cabins, she wondered if it would come off as awkward, approaching someone out of the blue like this. Even with this little anxious feeling inside, she reassured herself nothing bad could happen.
The next cabin she saw, had only one person sitting on their own. She attempted to slide the door half-open as quietly as possible, but couldn't stop it from making a little creaking noise.
"Hello, would you mind if I joined you?" She asked kindly, with a soft yet clear voice, as a warm smile formed on her face.
As she waited for an answer, she stood on the other side of the door. Her clothes were perfectly ironed and well fitting, with her hair being straight and healthily shiny, she could have a well sophisticated vibe if it wasn't for her childishly struggling to carry her trunk, which was definitely big and heavy for the already short, feeble Winona.

After thanking the boy for helping her with her luggage and sitting down on the seat in front of him, she wanted to give him space and see if he was willing to talk at all. As he sat there, quietly, reading, a wide array of thoughts paced through Winona's mind. "He must think I'm annoying, or maybe he's just an introvert... Am I bothering him? It's going to be really awkward staying quiet like this." Her gaze switched between Claude and the view of the window. She herself also enjoyed reading quietly on her own, so she decided not to come to any conclusions.
Soon she found herself struggling not to doze off, but just as her eyelids tried to close themselves, she noticed the boy sitting on the seat across was closing his book and putting it away.
As if she didn't had to psych herself up inside her mind just to speak again, she talked with a small smile on her face.
"That must've been a gripping book, it seems."
Despite her voice sounding monotone and calm, she was genuinely trying her best to be friendly. She thought that whether or not they'd continue on talking, getting introductions out of the way would make the situation less awkward.
"I'm Winona by the way." She looked into the boy's blue eyes, which she has been avoiding until now out of nothing but shyness, waiting for him to introduce himself as well.

She nodded and thanked Claude as she accepted the food he offered, looking quite delightful at the sight of a friend sharing one of her favourite things, chocolate.
"I'm glad you're not like your siblings, or anyone in general. You're just as great the way you are, and I'm sure many people will appreciate you for that."
It was heartwarming for Winona to see her attempts of cheering him up were successful. She herself was also very content about having this chance to chat with someone nice, but her overachiever-nerd mind couldn't be bothered by something other than school for too long.
"Did you check the subjects we'll be studying at Hogwarts? I can't wait to attend Astronomy. We might even get to stargaze in a magnificent tower!"
Her calm, monotone voice was noticeably starting to sound excited when she started talking about school. Judging from her expression, it was clear how enthusiastic and happy she was.
"...and potions too! My father still has burns from a failure he had at potions class."
Noticing how the memory she shared with a smile on her face might come off as a little creepy, she quickly added; "but he says it was the most enjoyable class ever!" she giggled for a moment, recalling the times her father told the story.
