Xaivier has been feeling homesick for a while now. He misses his parents.. mom, dad... But while most of his peers care more about their parents and siblings while they're gone, Xai has a different thought process. While he misses his parents, he actually cares more about his kitten, Socks. He misses the way she would curl up in his lap... the way she'd meow at him when she's hungry or purrs when petted. Even the first time he used magic was on Socks. He wanted to have this feeling back. So after a while, he made the decision to save up his galleons and go to Diagon Alley's Magical Menagerie to get a new pet. He knew he wanted a pet cat, but he decides to look at other things instead, just in case. He looks at toads, he looks at pygmy puffs- no, not for him. They are not his type of pet- no specific reason, he's just uninterested. He looks at the reptiles, like lizards and snakes- snakes, definitely not! He can't get one anyway, its only for third year parselmouths. He looks at the rabbits. He sees one known as a "Mist Hopper" and smiles.

"Now THIS is what we're talking about!" He mutters, observing it's features. Who can say no to a bunny so cute and tiny! Then he sees the price.

"12 galleons... just enough but..." He sneezes and sighs, still looking at it. Allergies. Damn. It looks back up at him. he desperately wishes he was able to get it. But he moves on to the cat section, where he was going to look first. He looks at all of the cute kittens. The Bewitched Midnight Stalker looked a lot like Socks! He smiles, feeling almost as if he was actually with Socks. But he wasn't. This was some random cat he didn't know. He glances at the price, and back at the cat, then back to the price again in shock.

"18 galleons!" He exclaims. "I only have 12!" He sighs again. He keeps looking at the cats. The Bengal? Nope, to expensive. Silver Siberian? Still, to much.. Then he lays his eyes upon a smaller kitten, probably the smallest of it's litter. A Silver Mackerel Tabby. Ten galleons. He'll have enough left to buy supplies.

"It's perfect.." Xaivier mutters under his breath. "Uh, miss! Over here!" He yells over to a staff worker.

"Yes, dear?" She asks.

Xai points to the cat. "I'd like this one." He says, scooping up the cat.

"I'll name you Shoes, to match Socks."
