Lonely...Again
(half rp, half question)
RP:
Akina walked around the dark, long hallways until she found a big door, looking for the headmaster's office. On each of it sides, it had lit torches flickering in the dimly lit hall. Akina knocked on the tall oak door. She noticed it had no handle, and there were gargoyles with open mouthes on the entrance. How would the Headmaster be able to open the door?
Akina sensed a quiet, serene vibe that came from the Headmaster's Office, like the library. But there was also a slight feeling of...mystery. Like there was something to be uncovered, or told. She wanted to tell the headmaster about something that was bothering her. When no response came, she quietly waited for the headmaster outside. "Um..not sure if you could hear me but uh...I feel like, I'm missing some friends." Akina shook her head at herself angrily and patiently waited.
Akina had been lonely all her life, and she didn't like it. When she was younger, she was meant to do chores and help her sisters make their beds. They were the golden children of the family, always getting congratulated for every single thing. Akina really, really wanted someone to trust, to talk to, to hang out with, and read with.
My question:
Everytime I start a new thread, no one answers. They just skip over my thread and go to a new one. I kind of feel lonely, to be honest. What should I do?

Lonely...Again
The office was nothing like the stories. A likely place with bits and bobs, gizmos and what's its. The whir of wizarding ingenuity was replaced with negative space. An emptiness that seemed wrong, soulless even. The walls were barren and the cabinets that once held books and oddities were left barren. There were a few comfortable, clean chairs in front of the desk, almost a protocol that this was where a student or vexed parent would take a seat. There was additional seating along the wall that was nary used these days. The desk was the only site of true activity in this otherwise cavernous space, piles of papers, quills and inkwells. A never-ending parade of papers and books, checks and balances lit by a single oil lamp that was half empty. There were other lights in the room, a candelabra that was lit and gave a brightness uselessly to the bare rafters that seemed oddly enough clean of cobwebs.
Akina would not see this room, this truly lonesome space because she was standing outside. She had never opened the door. she had taken herself far out of the way to a time and a place with an intention but then chose to make herself an observer. To leave herself in the periphery, just outside of human contact, what was she to expect but a lonesome, lackluster reception. She would need to meet, to greet and to engage if she were to expect interaction from others. If she were to end this cycle of loneliness she would have to actively engage others and not expect some sort of attraction of others through her passive presence.
So she would have a long, lonesome wait outside a door to a space that nobody had a reason to look at. That is until the end of the day, the darkest parts of the evening when the oil had run too low to write any longer and the candle wax was reduced to stubs. A wave of a wand and a resultant gust of wind would plunge the space into darkness as the headmaster left the office as he had time and time again.
Startled by a student loitering in the stairwell, without engagement or an indication of need he would not have a reason to interface with her. She would need to be more than just present if her ambition is to know others. To make friends and to have the good times she so desperately wants. In passing he would mutter a "good evening, don't stay too late... the prefects get up here eventually." A warning rather than a lecture, the kids had a penchant for sneaking about at odd hours and labeling their lack of a good nights sleep as 'rebellion."
Your answer: try joining threads in progress. Engage others, your posts need to have a hook for others so that they will answer. People should not be seeking to find you at this point because they have no reason to look. Also, make your presence known in out of character threads. There is a thread for people looking for roleplay partners, always look at the last 2 pages and see if anything piques your interest and owl the respective party.
Best of luck.

There is something about ambition, how it not only propels you but also defines you.
