Sara needed to finally start working on her DADA homework that is due next week. The homework is about Jinxes, Hexes and Curses and maybe ghosts, if Sara remembers correctly what they did in class. She's been avoiding that homework because it felt a little bit overwhelming to write. But next week and the deadline were approaching so she had to get to work.
Sara thought about doing the homework in the Ravenclaw common room, but she felt like her fellow Ravens would be too noisy for her to concentrate on her work properly. So the second option was obviously the library. Sara loved it: it was a quiet place she could study or even sometimes enjoy a good book in peace.
So she went down to the library with all her stuff. She picked the best study place that was available at the moment, spread out all her study equipment and finally, started studying. She was reading her notes from class and was trying to answer the questions from the homework. She also consulted herself with the book The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection when the notes were not sufficient enough.
She was doing quite well: she did two out of four questions and what she's written so far were, in her opinion, good and quite copious answers. And then she came to the third question:
What is the difference between a Ghost and a Non-being? Explain and use examples.
She just wrote a few things in class about ghosts and the explanation in the book just wasn't satisfying enough, so Sara didn't fully understand the material. She needed help.
First of all, you need to know a few things about Sara. She hates asking for help. She just likes to be a convenient and self-sufficient little girl and not bother somebody. Or to be a burden. No, no, no! She can do it herself! She can handle it... Until she can't... And she needs help.
So she has two options: write a lousy answer to the question and risk her grade OR she can ask somebody for help. She was conflicted: she didn't want to get a bad grade nor did she want to ask for help. But, she thought, getting a bad grade is worse than asking for help. Nevertheless, Sara decided to be more outgoing this year and this was another chance to do so.
She looked around to see if there was another first-year writing DADA homework. At first, she couldn't spot anybody, but then she spotted a girl with a closed DADA textbook by her side. It was a blonde-haired girl, most definitely a first-year. After some hesitating, Sara decided to approach her.
She walked up to her and said "Hi! I saw you're also doing your DADA homework, mind if I join you?" she asked a bit awkwardly. "And I'm Sara Arnez, first-year Ravenclaw, as you can see," she said pointing at her uniform. "I won't be bothering you too much, I just need a little bit of help with one question from the homework..."

RP inspo: I think we could make it by our characters meeting in the library/common room and studying together. Sara or Fiona would come across something they don't understand and then the other one would explain that to the other. They can also talk abt schoolwork and school-related stuff and become friends that way.

Fiona was settling into life at Hogwarts relatively well. She had a few friends, though she often felt like she was just tagging along while they did things because she was still not very good at speaking her mind. She was just so used to being quiet and shy that she didn't really know how to speak up and let other people get to know her. She was trying though, trying really hard to make new friends and to not be so shy. It was a challenge, but one at which Fiona was hoping to succeed. She was tired of being alone all the time.
Fiona found herself in the library. She was often found there, so often that the joke had been made that she might as well have a bed there. Fiona smiled as she remembered the joke. She was planning on working on her DADA homework this time. It wasn't her favorite subject, but she understood its necessity and still wanted to do a good job. Fiona set her books on the table that she chose to work at. She was a creature of habit and almost always sat at the same table, unless it was taken already. Thankfully it was available, so Fiona was going to be comfortable with where she was working.
Fiona was focused on her work and struggling a little with the homework, but she was going to do her best to get good marks anyway. She glanced through the textbook a little as she answered some of the questions but she was trying not to forget any details. Fiona wanted to write a thorough answer to every question. Fiona was thinking about the answer to the tougher question on the assignment when she heard a voice close to her and jumped a little. She dropped her writing utensil and looked over toward the sound, seeing another Ravenclaw speaking to her. "U-Um... hi," she said, her cheeks flushed because she had been embarrassed about being startled. "My name is Fiona Callahan. I'm also a first-year Ravenclaw," she said, trying to speak clearly. "G-Go ahead and sit," she said, gesturing toward one of the chairs at the table. "I'm a little stuck on one of the questions too, but maybe between the two of us, we can figure it out?" she suggested. She was still shy about talking to other people, but if it was something education related, she could relax a little more.
